Video: 2007 DTM C-Class goes up in flames

During a DTM presentation at Düsseldorf’s Königsallee (however you say that), a five-year-old race car that was fitted with the body work of the new 2008 C-Class caught fire due to an overheated brake. The cause for the fire? Well, supposedly driver, Bruno Spengler said “I got out of the car and discovered that the rear of the car had caught fire due to the untypical overheating of the rear brake when I spun doing some doughnuts.” Awesome, great job Spengler.

Anyone else thinking what I am thinking? The new body work probably has different air inlets to cool the brakes and these did not reach the brakes on the chassis of the older car.

Another deboosted comment. Don't you get it? you know nothing about cars. Read the article instead of just the title before commenting. It was a 5 year old DTM car fitted with the exterior of the 08' C-Class body. Obviously it was just to showcase the car and wasn't modified to fit an official 08' DTM C.

Not everyone can afford true automotive perfection. Stick to your ES350 and leave the real driving to rest of us. Oh and who won the F1 race in Bahrain? Where was Toyota? I think they dropped out w/ 13 laps to go. Good luck next time.

"Fun to drive", like styling, is a subjective opinion. I am pretty sure that both the 335i and S5 as well as the IS-F are all fun to drive in their own way.

Personally, the standard Audi A5 Coupe appeals to me the most. Beautiful car.
