Spy Shots: Turbo Audi RS6 Caught In Action

A couple of more shots of the upcoming Audi RS6 surfaced over at Auto Bild today. This time the super sedan was undergoing test on the Nurburgring.

Rumors now persist that the new RS6 will have a turbocharged v10 FSI power plant and sport around 550 horsepower.

Yes Audi did own Cosworth for a while. There are 2 entities with Cosworth, Cosworth Motorsport & Cosworth Engineering, or something like that. Anyways Audi owned one and sold it, it wasn't the F1 engine builder.

In 1998 the british company Vickers sold Cosworth to VW Group, VW then kept Cosworth Technology (the consultancy side of Cosworth who developed the aluminium casting technology) and sold the Cosworth Racing entity (racing engine makers) to Ford Motor Co. Since then Audi and AstonMartin have both used that aluminium casting technology.

Warum nicht MookGMBH? The only thing I won't believe is if Audi's RS6 ends up with a 90-degree V10 instead 72-degree engine which would be proper for a V10. Why don't they just stick the new Q7's 500 hp 60-degree V12 turbodiesel in it for people who prefer a sedan over the Q7.

Very nice, I give lots of props to Audi. They are making very nice cars lately. I fell in love with S6 fog lights. They look sooo sick, very original and hot!

I think Audi would do a lot of good if they made rear drive version of their cars. If you can't wag the tail out Tiff Needel oversteer style, then I will never own it. Better weight distribution and balance too.

There is no once-size-fits all drive system. If Audi offered choices, then they would expand their reach.

Porsche has a smidge of high performance AWD platforms, BMW offers it as a practical addition for buyers that want all season as the Xi, but Audi will limit their success by forcing the Quattro on all of their high performance platforms.

While I'm at it, Mercedes is shooting themselves by not offering manual gearboxes to it's AMG lineup. My biggest beef with my E55 was the retarded programming heuristics of the automatic tranny.
