NISSAN SKYLINE GT-R REPLICA BASED ON A BMW!

NISSAN SKYLINE GT-R REPLICA BASED ON A BMW!
Gotta admit that this one left me totally speechless. Ok, I can find some kind of logic in turning a Peugeot 406 Coupe into a Ferrari 360 Modena, a Lincoln Continental into a Rolls Royce Phantom or even a MX-5 / Miata into a BMW Z3. But please give me a sane explanation to as why someone would take the decision to transform an E36 BMW 3-Series Coupe into a Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 –even if the final result could actually deceit many people?

you can still tell its a BMW easily, it looks more like a ricer than a replica....

I hate kit cars & ricers, and I especially hate kit cars made to look like fast & the furious props.

Kit cars can be real fun though. Try getting an original 1936 Mercedes 500K to restore. Good luck, and if you can find one, good luck being able to buy it. Kits are fun, but I do agree with you. The whole fast/furious thing has to go.

Maybe the guy just hates the BMW grille, although I don't know why.

I would do that conversion any day of the week, I personally like the Skylines of old way more than 3 series coupes.

Just like all those S15 conversions people do, the Skyline conversion is that much better.

One reason could be Chris Bagle. Please, somebody come to your sences and fire him before he ruins the whole line-up. A lot of japanese cars look better. I do wish they would get over their love of FWD though.

There is no problem in logic:
Peugeot 406 to Ferrari 360 Modena is an upgrade.
Lincoln Continental to a Rolls Royce Phantom is an upgrade
MX-5 / Miata to a BMW Z3 is an upgrade

E36 to a R34 is also an upgrade.

R34 is a very famous car at its time. It is so fast that it is not legal in US (I saw one at San Jose Auto Show several years ago and surprised to see one in US. I was taking photos and asked the owner how he get one into the states, and he just smiles to me.)

This offers the explanation to convert an E36, just because the real R34 is not legal here!

I'd rather drive the R34 than E36.
