ALWAYS???? I suspect the car was much greater than the driver. Oops, didn't see the flat tire, let your favorite supercar get a flat at those speeds and see what happens....

Yup! that's exactly how fibreglass bodies shatter. Reminds me of something I saw as a kid back in the fifties when a Jaguar XK 120 sport car took off north of Toronto city limits on Young street with the police in hot pursuit but falling further and further behind with every passing second. They never caught the guy but I have to wonder if he also crashed.
