FYI, Fiat, Renault and Peugeot make fantastic cars.

Also, you are full of it. I remember you posted a whole lot of crap about how the RenaultSport Clio and Megane 225 were so inferior to their rivals, when in fact they are the segment leaders.

So why would I care that you don't like the top nine? You don't know anything about them anyway.

The simple reason is that Volvo never really has had a lot of diesel engines as the other Europeans have. It only has the 5cyl D5 for a long time and just until now they have two smaller 4cyl 2.0l and 1,6l.
The reason is the previous extra tax on diesel cars in Sweden that had the affect that Volvos and SAAB didn’t make a diesel engine because it wouldn’t sell. There two biggest markets are USA and their home market Sweden. Neither of these markets demanded a diesel engine so why bother.

MB, BMW and Audi had had a lot of diesel engines for a long time it shows on this list.
Volvo sells most of their cars with their 5cyl petrol engine that is not really fuel-efficient and they lack a real small car. The smallest one is almost as big as the biggest Fiat but even the C30 has got the thirsty 5cyl engine.

Correct, and interestingly the 1.9 diesel found in the SAAB 9-3 is actually a Fiat-sourced engine.

Fiat's biggest diesel is a 2.4, found in the (Here's one for you huu76) Mondeo-sized Croma.
