Certified pre-owned is for the '04 models. How can the '07 models be pre-owned?

it's a demo 2006 M6 (the 2007's have been out since October) and a demo 2007 M5. Of course they're discounted, it says very clearly "ONE AT THIS PRICE" under both ads.

an '07 can be pre-owned because it's APRIL 2007 and '07 models come out in fall '06.

and a 2008 lexus RX can even be pre-owned in 2007 since they've been selling '08 RXs for over a month now.

Oh without a doubt the market is cooling. With the onslaught of hybrid vehicles making their way into the market and rising gas prices, these cars are getting harder to sell. BMW and MB would be smart to take a look at what Lexus is doing with their whole hybrid performance cars lineup. Does it matter? A discount is a discount. It didn't expicitly mention "brand new" but for chrissakes, where's your common sense - when a discount is 6 large, no way on this green earth would this be a used car. The fact that it's a 2006 model suggests that the dealer is having problems moving 2006s.

If it were used cars then I'd be really worried if I were you. It would've meant a BMW depreciation rate is amongst the worst in the business. Imagine a used 2006 which the dealer cannot sell and had to reduce the price by a further 6k (on top of the already lower used-car price).

Except I thought the BMW "mystique" is enough to make buyers purchase their cars at full price. Now I know how this coffee-brewin' clerk who works at Starbucks and calls himself a "barista" is able to afford a BMW.

What they are NOT showing is the price of these two cars....duh! Im sure the price is inflated. This is a common gimmick to get people into the showroom....every car dealer does this isht. Nothing new.

What's the best price you've heard for the new M5 so far? If they are offering a significant discount, I'm in for one. $80,000 or less?

The 2006 M6 & 2007 M5 are demo models, it's definitely a great way of getting people into their showrooms, especially when their whole goal is to sell the 100 pre-owned vehicles they have noted below....Lol!!!

I just ordered a 2008 M5 with a 4,000 discount under MSRP. The vehicles above are 2007 and there are tons of dealers that will negotate on cars that are sitting on the lots. I counted over 100 on AutoTrader for NEW 2007 M5's that were sitting. Used (2006) M5s are going in the Mid 70's which are a great deal if you are willing to risk not having a warranty for too long. BMW is NOT Certifying these cars as CPO as of yet anyway so the used ones are at your own risk!

Another note - the 2007's that are sitting typically don't have the features people want like the HUD Display and/or Leather Dash and active seats. Most of them are stripped versions with just a few options.

No one is buying the M cars. Go checkout an M Coupe lease, they are giving them away. The latest batch of M cars are far to abrasive for most buyers. Gone are the days of the e46 M3 and the e39 M5. Those were BMW's sprinkled with M, but basically not much more abrasive any other BMW, and therefore were sold in greater numbers as wealth symbols, and to fringe enthusiasts. These days if people want the best all around sports sedan they can buy an Audi and be 110% satisfied without buying into the lightning quick herky jerky around town shifting, and the flat high rev power band, and the purposelly built in F1 lineage. Those are things I eat up, but I don't expect 90% of the buying public to care, and if they don't care they they shouldn't have gotten one in the first place.

I can't wait for the e60 M5 to depreciate.

Considering the 2008 M5 will come with extra features like LED tail lights ( because of the facelift ) Im not surprised. The M6 is a 2006 model so do you expect them to sell them in their full price? lmao!

Here (M.E-dubai) the M6 is very popular between shiekhs and you will find alot of them in their garages. The M5 is not that popular and you will rarely find any.

Yup...001 is correct, the party's over for cars like this. Everybody who wants one has already bought his/her's and, as economicsts say, they are now courting the 'marginal buyer'. Other problem is BMW's awful SMG - anybody who has one, hate's it.

Expect to see discounts on other 'fad-mobiles' like the MB CLS, and vanity SUV's like the Cayenne and BMW's new x-6.

Let me get this straight, because ONE dealer in Southern California advertises two "Pre - Owned" BMW's it means the whole M market has cooled. Sorry, I don't buy that. If anything I can see the M6 cooling off not the M5.

If those were the LS and the SC they would have advertised a $5-6000 mark-up. You have to pay more for realiability.

Market is not cooling. The prices are going UP each year, as is the horsepower, as are the waiting lists for these M cars.

I was at my dealer last week and saw a M6 convertible for $121,000. Had a $7,000 PREMIUM on it.

People who are not in the business saying the whole BMW " M " market has cooled off. idiots .. How do you figure that? We just took in trade a 2006 M5 with 12k miles on it for $70k and resold it for $ 77,000 ... The real question is that the 2-M'5 are most likely morphodite cars that either are weird colors or equipment for them. That is why they didnt sell ... Audi's do not rule. There are plenty of RS4's around to shake a stick at. Autospies, is a very skewed site. Why dont you bring some interesting and informative acrticles to the table? how bout new technolgy and new products? why does this site and its writers continue to bring these ridiculous topics to the front. I bet if I opened up the paper today, I could find that Lexus is offering huge savings on the RX and LS460. Does that mean those models are dead? Most of you sound like idiots, trying to dissect a car dealer's ad and claiming to find meanings and trends......that ad is designed to generate traffic. No more. "One at this price" means "It was sold yesterday, but I have others to show you". I wonder how many M Series were delivered that weekend, at or near MSRP, to customers that responded to the "Blowout Special". Brilliant marketing.

By the way.....my Grandmother loves her Lexus. In fact, I think that all grandmothers love Lexus. No drama, no excitement....."Go straight, turn right, not too fast, nice and easy".
