Report: Volkswagen does the four-door coupe thing
As you know from before, Volkswagen is looking to add more new models while reducing cost. To do that, Volkswagen will be looking to take some lessons from it’s premium brand, Audi using their modular architecture strategy. Well it seems like the first vehicle from that collaboration will be a new four-door coupe Volkswagen, otherwise internally known as the CC or I/O 511.

With a length of the four-door coupe Volkswagen measuring nearly 4.90 meters, the car will most likely use the platform of the Audi A6. The base model is expected to have a 2.0 liter engine producing 150 horsepower and another 2.0 liter turbocharged engine producing 200 horsepower. The top of the line variant is expected to have a 3.6 liter V6 engine producing up to 260 horsepower.

The four-door coupe Volkswagen is said to make its debut at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show with sales to begin later that Summer.

M3 concept? More like a Pontiac GTO/Holden.

Damn nice. I wish the Panamera had some of these design elements The rear end looks like it might be squared off nicely.

I wonder when this goes on sales, won't it going to hurt Audi sales? I know VW own Audi and stuff but still yet. I guess they are trying to mimick Toyota business philosophy. Just like the Toyota Camry and Lexus ES350.

No, because the Camry V6 have identical powertrains and wheelbases; that's as opposed to Audi/VW, which usually have different wheelbases, engine options, transmissions and even AWD systems.

It will take away some Audi sales but will moe than make up for it with increased VW sales. I expect it to have most of Audi's features at a bargain price.

Looks much better than the Panamera, and way way better than that hideous BMW CS concept.

It's nice but I wish Volkswagen wouldn't do it because I feel the 4-door coupe concept should be kept more upscale for exclusiveness. I don't mean to come off as an asshole but after this, other affordable car companies will eventually follow suit, & that'll be the end of that.

I'm already thinking of my next car when my current lease is up, (I'm only a year in) I have my eye on the CLS & other upcoming 4-door coupes, practical sexy & exclusive...however by the look of things, not for long.

It looks great, but it doesn't look like a VW or German. Where is the shield grill? I do like the LED touch on the front fender.
