Make Room For The Panamera

I don't think anyone here care much about the up and coming Porsche Panamera. I know Porsche make "Superb" performance cars but this Porsche Panamera is on "UGLY" duckling.

Why would anyone want to buy this Porsche Panamera when you can get the Aston Martin Rapide, Jaguar C-XF or the MB CLS.

I kind of like the Panamera. I think Porsche has a good design philosophy. I like their headlights and grilles they put on their vehicles. The only problem with the Panamera is the back end. It's a little bit bulky. But I've only seen spy shots so it might not be in real life. But anyway, I think the Panamera is a nice idea. If the Cayenne didn't exist I would question it, but since Porsche has shown the passenger side of building cars, I think this will be good.

Aston Martin Rapide is a much nicer looking automobile...however since Aston is getting into this market of 4 door super cars, it seems only fit that Porsche should as well.

Well, the Aston will most likely be over twice the price. Astons are much more exotic and exclusive than Porsche cars.

they should have just pulled out the molds back out from the 928gts, that would have been a great starting point. Tragic that they ever retooled Zuffenhausen...

Well, the Cheyenne apparently sells adequately well, and look how ugly that beast is...

I think this looks MUCH better than the Cheyenne, and so I think it will sell great if it drives like most Porsches do.

indoctrin8ed, you will buy or ride anything with a German emblem on it. If we put a German car brand emblem on a use "Donkey" or "Camel", I betcha you're going says, it can goes from 0-60 in 2.9 seconds flat ha.... and it only it only need grass and water;)

Don't you love journalists? When they can't think of a word they make one up. That is how the word "liberal" ended upon with that horrible bastardization of meaning used in common parlence. In most countries they just come right out and say "scoialism". That was a joke and I do think I am funny: horribly enough. This time however, the word "factorial" has a meaning. n! [n factorial] is the product of the integers from 1 to n.

The Porsche Panamera will be a killer car and you know it!

Look at the camo shots. Zero sense of style, looks like an eighties leftover. And since German quality and reliability consistantly falls behind the GS, I stand by my assessment that this is a POS. An ugly,
unoriginal, POS.

i hate how porsche is becomeing an other MB. There use to be a day when Porsche was exclusive. It use to be amongst Lambo and Ferrari. Now, the Cayman, Cheyeene, Boxster ahve made it just another luxury car company. I mean the styling of the Cheyenne is the same as the VW and Audi. Everyone gets mad at GM and ford for rebadging. the VW group is now starting to do the same.

Cayenne/Touareg/Q7 are hardly re-badges. The Cayenne and Touareg have similar body shapes, but different engine choices and completely different interiors; the only think the Q7 shares with them is the platform. Q7 is longer, looks 100% different inside and out and has different engines (except for the V6).

Yet people forget that the Cayenne (Not 'Cheyeene'!) is a necessary evil, keeping Porsche afloat so that they can keep on producing the Porsche-engineered 911 range, brilliant as it is.

Also, idiots like 'Lexus' wonder why people will buy this car over the Aston Martin Rapide or Mercedes CLS. Well drongo brain, the CLS isn't in the same ballpark as the Pamamera, which it will undercut by some margin because it is really just a re-bodied E-Class.

The Porsche will also be a more driver-focused and accomplished handler than the Aston Martin, although the Aston will be very good. The Cayenne already handles far better than a SUV should, and can keep up with a Lotus Elise on the track, which is no mean feat.

It is this engineering excellence that will attract people to the Panamera, that and the way it looks -which honestly we don't know yet because Porsche slaps so much camo over the test mules!

The CLS is a huge hit. It's good for Porsche to make a sports sedan. I just hope they get the styling right. I'm really concerned about the back having a hatch. Not one sports sedan to date has a hatch because a trunk looks better and more classy. The hatch could wind up turning it into a big, fat civic or something.
