Too bad this engine isn't available for cars sent to the U.S. It would be nice if BMW could create a diesel that could take on the A3 for way under $30,000. They are taking their sweet time with the 1-series aren't they?

This engine is old now... currently the 320d is being sold with a 2.0 delivering 177 hp, and with start/stop, brake energy regeneration, ... it does 50 US mpg, 0-62 in a BMW quoted 8.4 sec
