let's wait to see it side by side with the all new Lexus IS-F. This is a beautiful car not to mention that is the king on the streets today, but no for long time until we get the new lexus philosophy about performance. This would change the way we think about sport cars....

Lexus will never have a 328 Roadster, a 2002, a 356 Speedster. THOSE are cars that "change the way we think about sport cars". Lexus will never have one. Ever.

Lexus raised the bar on reliability, but the others have about caught up.

The differences in reliability amongst most makers is insignificant over 3 years.

@Agent009 - Agreed. Not quite the paradigm shift that these guys are alluding to.

All the real men I see driving around in Michigan, as well as sunshine states like California, Florida and Texas are driving Lexus IS and Lexus GS.
Real men wouldn't be caught dead driving a girly car for fear of being laughed at and knowing that my buds in their IS would lay the smack down on them faster than they can say GO!
And this new high maintainence, unreliable POS is no different.

Nice video but too short. The coupe looks better than the sedan but I'd bet there is no legroom for rear passengers in which case the best thing to do is to simply remove the rear seat for extra cargo space. That way you end up with a true two-seater hardtop sports car and sufficient room for luggage. I want to see more of the car itself especially the seats and instrument panel.

This is only part of a series of promo clips for the M3. If you go to the BMW website, the two M3 promos are linked somewhat together in an interractive website. There will be more additions to the total promo package as the release of M3 approaches. BMW does this with most of its new models on their website.

Great Video. Thanks Agent009. The new M3 looks exactly like their concept car presented a few weeks ago. Their is nothing more disappointing than releasing a concept car that looks really good only to have the production car disappoint. Great job BMW.

Driving a ugly sports car on a bridge, what is the point?

Tnink about it....topmost reliable brands, simplicity to express aesthetic beauty and the best functionality...Lexus! the privilege to enjoy the highest customer loyalty rates....Lexus! recently, Lexus came up first in the Top Gear Survey "UK's biggest independent car satisfaction." Also, it was name by the Luxury Institute, New York,the numer "one" among other "luxurious autos! And some other well known sides, places the Lexus Ls 460 " The World Car of the Year", Lexus has won respect, and reputation from people. Of course, there is something missing as we all know...."desire for a performance car". That's why Lexus come up with the " F-Series", a letter that stands for performance, it will must include (and recently confirmed by Lexus executives in Japan) Hybrid Technology with a performance touch! So imagine a car like Lexus with performance in mind!!! a new car with different expectations than the others, and the best technology....?....think about it!

I don't understand the ad. The M3 drives over a bridge and the supports come up. Is there some meaning there?

THE IS-F DOESN'T NEED TO BE RELIABLE. THE M3's SELLING POINT IS THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF RELIABILITY. IF LEXUS TRULY WANTS TO SELL AS MANY IS-Fs AS POSSIBLE, THEY SHOULD MAKE IT AS UNRELIABLE AS POSSIBLE, INCLUDE THAT IN THEIR ADVERTISING, AND WATCH SALES SKYROCKET.

Stupid promo video

Dare I say that V8 sound so muted and lazy? Since when BMW cannot make a good six cykinder and has to rely on a V8 like AUDI? NISSAN, LEXUS, or HONDA can all easily make a 4.0 V6 with more than 295 lb-ft torque while sound a lot better!

I understand. However, my point is that since Bimmer is making V8, why not just make a V6. You can save a lot of weight and get better weight distribution. Nissan and Ford all have 4.0 V6, so apparently it's not an issue. I cannot but help think it's all about marketing, rather than engineering.

I don't necessarily agree w/ you. True, I-6 is a great configuration and for me the best advantage of it is lower massing center, which contributes a lot to 3 series's handling and control of body movement.

However, 2 questions remain: 1. you can certainly make a V6 if you already know how to make a V8. 2. It cannot be a bad thing if you can get the same torque out of same displacement with 2 less cylinder. Think about all the space and weight you can save! No more ugly hood bump!

My opinion is that instead of going for optimal engineering solution, BMW goes for 1. money saving 2. establishing marketing link to M5 while keeping the myth of its I-6 for base 3 series. Even if not going for a big V6, BMW can still easily get the tt 3.0 in 335i to produce 400hp & 380lb-ft(80 more!) w/ same fuel efficiency as this 4.0 V8. Just look at that flat line of torque curve and you'll see how much BMW sits back.

I think we'll soon see lots of Jap tt 2.8 or 3.0 that produce same hp w/ more torque. Tt is the ultimate way.
