VW Scirocco back on U.S. agenda

Volkswagen’s American division may not be in favor of introducing the new Scirocco to the US market, but the final decision will come from VW Group’s head-honcho Martin Winterkorn closer to the production version’s unveiling at next year’s Geneva Motor Show.VW spokesman Hans-Gerd Bode has said that if given the go-ahead, the new Scirocco will arrive next year following its debut in Geneva.

Looks like VW is really going after the ES and IS market. Too bad it's a pussy mobile aimed at the girlie ride market with the Miata, Boxster and S2000.

you're an idiot. girlie market S2000? last time i checked the S2K isn't available in an auto...so much for that theory. you wanna talk about a girlie car go look at your SC430.

That's all we need is another unreliable VW/Audi.

LOL LexusNumberone (More like Number five) since when is the ES not a girlie mobile? Here in NYC I have not seen one NOT ONE male driver in this car. LOL! Been all females I see driving up and down Park and Lexington in that bloated Camry.
As for the VW, the Scirocco will be welcome!! Bring it VeeDub!

Good news for us,but not quite for VW.
It will steal sales from GTI and Audi A3.

looks sweet!

Reminds me of the new Lancer/EVO...good thing that came out first otherwise German fans would say Mitsu was ripping off Vdub style.

Although it looks like a hatch, they should try to market it as a coupe...maybe kinda like the CLS four door coupe idea (as in its something that it blantantly doesnt appear to be, if you get my drift)

It's a shame that it wont make it over here, one picture and I like it much more than the GTI.

With the addition of the EOS, it may be very difficult to market this car unless its big, like a passat coupe...ick

From the looks department, this new one looks great (actually all Sciroccos look great). Too bad they've always suffered with reliability issues. If VW can fix this on the next version, it'll be a winner.

I LOVE that car. There is not one thing I don't like, and if they are reliable, 'quick', not fast but quick then count me in. Unless of course Subaru release an STi with some electronic manual, and hatch anytime soon.

YAY Bring it VeeDub! THough I hear in the grapevine that Winterkorn sent it back to be redone as well as the next Golf and tweaking the Tiguan. So will be interesting to see the final product. I have a feeling it will be quite different.
