Edmunds.com Announces Consumers' Most Wanted Vehicle Awards for 2007

Edmunds.com, the premier online resource for automotive information, today announced the winners of the sixth annual Edmunds.com Consumers' Most Wanted vehicle awards.

"These awards provide a good idea of what consumers are looking for in their next vehicle," said Karl Brauer, Editor in Chief of Edmunds.com. "This year, consumers voiced the opinion that the domestics are developing some very compelling cars and trucks."

By a considerable margin, the 2007 GMC Acadia won the flagship award, Edmunds.com Consumers' Most Significant Vehicle of 2007. The next highest finisher was the 2007 Saturn Aura, and the 2007 Honda Fit took third place.

Among manufacturers, Chevrolet led the pack, winning five awards, while Cadillac and Honda tied for second place, each winning four awards in this year's survey.

The people who wanted Mercedes already bought them in 2006. Not much has changed. The LS460 was hyped up greatly by its marketers and has done very well with the LS600H!

I'd take a 535xiT over a Magnum SRT8 any day. I'd also take an A6 wagon or E-class wagon over one, and if more high end brands made wagons I'd take those too.

LOL You all kill me! Remember not everyone in America can afford BMW's, Mercedes',Lexus', etc. So this list is a list of greats in each of the prospective catergories.
I see what they readers at edmund's chose probably represents a lot of Americans, since they poll those people. Edmunds sent out emails...did you all not get one to vote?

In 2005, the Audi A6 won a design of the year award, as well as "World Car of the Year..." along with at least a dozen other awards. That car swept Europe-- especially Germany.

In 2006, the BMW 3 Series was on the Ward's Top 10 Engines list, and it also won "World Car of the Year." I can safely assume that it won many other awards.

Just a history lesson.

entry level easy the 3 series. mid size luxury easy mercedes e/ bmw 5. upper luxury definately not that toyota. ill take a mercedes s600 in all white. thats my list oh and for wagon ill take the e63amg wagon over anyother one on the face of the planet.

I agree with a lot of the list. Audi and BMW did quite well- in every class they competed in, if they weren't in first, at least one of them were in second or third.

The Lexus LS460 was utterly expected, because the A8 has been reigning for too long. I was surprised that the A8 still edged out the S-Class, though, because the S is fresher, but I'd take either.

Woah, just noticed that. No Mercs. The C-Class came in last in the 3 Series class! It got 1% of the vote!

The E-Class Estate did come in second behind the A6 Avant, though, and the S was in third, behind the LS and A8. I'm sure there were some others on various podiums. SL was probably high in the 911 class.
