PHOTO GALLERY: Bimmerfest 2007-Spies capture the all the time best BWW lovefest
001 was in Santa Barbara today photographing the ultimate BMW lovefest, Bimmerfest 2007.

It was our first year covering the show and we were not disappointed.

Some of the most beautiful and creatively converted BMW's were adorning the showgrounds.

Check out the best photo coverage anywhere of Bimmerfest 2007 in our huge photo gallery:

Actually the wrong footer was applied to the photos, that's why it's on there. We have the photos being updated as I type. So...

That Louis-Vuitton 650i convertible is pretty cool.

Was that a Nieman-Marcus edition or do we think somebody cut up a handbag and made it themselves?

I cannot recall any Louis Vuitton clad BMW from Neiman Marcus. The 2006 Christmas Book had an M6 but it had no such interior and the year before had a normal 6-series I believe, but I don't recall such accouterments on it either.

Some luxury product makers though, make their materials available. Zegna is a really good example, you can have bespoke shirts made with Zegna fabrics. In fact, I believe that is how they got their start.

I liked the Louis Vuitton 6er, too. Interesting upholstery. I also liked the A4 in the background.

there should a test before you can buy a bmw. those pictures exemplify why people think only assholes drive bmw's

There should be a test before you're allowed to post on this forum.

Yes, that's a pretty funny observation. I observed that too...and my sarcastic Louis Vuitton comment above was going in that direction.

The psychological question is .... does BMW actively court these sort of 'interesting' people or do they 'self-select' and just gravitate to BMW's because of some of their own personality nuances? It seems limited to the more expensive ones though..M's, 6's, 7's and a few 5's.

3-series purchasers don't seem to have as high of a gold-chain inclination. I think the gold chain set really like's 6-series.

They gravitate, of course. And, believe me, there are plenty of posers driving 325s out there. IMO the 3er is probably the worst for that type of buyer... cheap leases on those are a dime a dozen, and almost anyone can afford one- thus, those who probably couldn't even afford to buy a 1 Series, lease a 3 Series. And pose. "I drive a BMW."

Thanks 001... I was the drunkard with the Yellow GTI with the "Show Me Your Boobs" sign on top of it.. Thanks a lot for the picture, but I'm having trouble finding the little interview you got of me... Where can I find it?
