Previews

We take AMG's latest beast for a little spin around a 14-mile stretch of road known as the Nurburgring.

In an automotive realm heavily flavored with mine’s bigger (not to mention faster and cooler) than yours, an AMG badge is a seriously enviable mark of distinction. It says you’ve got the money to go the extra mile, and suggests you have a taste for power and perhaps even the talent to manage it.

So here’s an example of badging that’s enviable and then some. The hottest member, in fact, of a very hot family. Lighter than its CLK stablemates, with more power, less mass and more of everything else: brakes, tires, suspension.

Not to worry the Nissan Skyline GT runs the Nurburgring in 7:15 and that only costs $70,000. Not to mention it will probably get an average 28MPG while using 87 octane. But wait...there's more...they'll even throw in 2 rear seats...DVD Navigation...12 Speaker HD radio w/6 Disc changer in the trunk... Bluetooth... AWD... Traction Control...Sunroof...Wood Trim...Heated Mirrors...Auto-dimming rear view mirrors...and a Full sized spare! It doesn't get any better than that! I know I read Autospies!

Funny you say that because a person in the market for a CLK wouldn't be looking at a Nissan nevermind the GTR. Because I know I wouldn't.

*blink blink* I know I'm reading this in the morning, but that looks more like an A5 than a CLK. Nice picture, but not exactly Mercedes.

The article is about the Black Edition NOT the DTM

The CLK 55 AMG DTM costs appox $350,000 when new (2005-7)

DTM is bloody expensive and is basically a Track-Car with a few road going features.

I love my 06 CLK, especially the interior. Will definitely do all over again when the new model comes out.

Remember the A5 and 3 Coupe are brand new fresh models. Both taking many cues from the CLK. I really like them both. Audi for its interior and BMW for the front end.
