Ferrari customers face 3 year waiting lists

The Ferrari brand is synonymous with desirability and exclusiveness, a combination that leaves buyers often waiting up to 24 months just to take delivery of one. Remember, people who can afford to spend a couple hundred thousand dollars on a car aren’t used to waiting more than five minutes for a coffee let alone two years for a car, supercar or not. Maranello is well aware of the problem. We’ve already reported that Ferrari is planning to lift production to meet rising demand from emerging markets such as China, Russia and the Middle East, and now US customers may have to wait even longer because of rising sales in China.

Just another reason to buy a Lamborghini or Aston Martin instead...or buy the Ferrari with the intention of a quick flip.

People who love Ferrari will wait for their Ferrari. It's not a matter of having second options or not. You think Lamborghini's don't have a wait as well? Their all exclusive. Their not like Toyota's that gets pooped out just like that.

3 years may be a long time but well worth it to Ferrari fans. Sure it may be a dent into it's generation but a Ferrari will always be a Ferrari. The sound, performance, handling, passion, & heritage will remain throughout it's lifetime.

That's why Ferrari owners or even collectors don't mind the aging. My father has an old 360 Modena with 5000km not sure how many miles that is but it is in mint condition. He has no thoughts of selling it even though he knows the F430 is quicker and looks more up to date.

I'd take any cars in the 200K + range. Their all great cars respectively and are of high quality and high performance. Performance wise you can't go wrong, build quality you can't go wrong, but the only thing you can go wrong is perhaps styling but even then who cares when you're in a super car!

The Lambo waiting list is about a year from what I've heard....way less than three years! And my friend ordered an Aston for almost immediate production (delivery in less than six months I think).

As more people gain wealth, the demand for a Ferrari has risen. It seems as though Ferrari hasn't/isn't changing their production schedule so the list just gets longer. Eventually people won't get in line for their ride and they'll move to other rides where the lines aren't as long.

PlanB, yeah I agree with what you have say; yeah! 3 years is dawn long time. If I had the money, I would not wait for it. I would either get a Lambo Gallardo or Aston Martin instead. Plus the Lambo has the same prestige or equal to the like of Ferrari.

Anyone know what the percentage of red Ferraris is compared to the total made? I see red almost all the time, occasionally black or yellow, and have seen a white Ferrari only twice maybe.

Regarding what color to order a high-performance sports car, I always prefer the official racing color of the country of manufacture. Anyway, that is the opinion of one who drives 4-door sedans and SUVs and I don't apply my own advice to the vehicles I drive.
