Infiniti G35, Lexus ES350 and Nissan Maxima All Post 'Excellent' Ratings in Tests by Consumer Reports

Lincoln MKZ, Buick Lucerne, and Saab 9-5 achieve 'Very Good' overall scores

Three of the six upscale sedans tested for the June issue of Consumer Reports, the Infiniti G35, Lexus ES350, and Nissan Maxima, posted "Excellent" overall ratings. It's rare for so many cars to be scored so highly in a monthly test group.

The top-scoring and sporty Infiniti G35 now ranks as the best car tested by Consumer Reports in the Upscale Sedan category, outpointing the previously- tested Acura TL. The quiet and comfortable Lexus E350 came in very close behind the Infiniti G35. The Nissan Maxima rated somewhat lower overall, though still achieving an Excellent overall road test score.

The test group brought together a total of six very different sedans in the $30,000 to $40,000 range, with varying blends of sportiness and opulence. The more posh models tend to be quieter, have more interior space and ride more smoothly. Sporty models usually have less room inside, ride firmly and handle more nimbly.

It is time for you to move to Antarctica. I have heard that most of the time you do not need A/C to stay cool nor refrigerator to keep your food cold.

Lexus/toyota make the most boring cars in the world.

The Germans are excellent mechanical engineers but have fallen short in electrical engineering in the past. I had horrible electrical problems with Audis I owned in the eighties. These problems have all but disappeared in my current Audi. I believe that many cars still have unreliable warning systems with warning lights illuminating for no good reason. A better approach would be not to rely on idiot warning lights but have the instrument panel display a code that the customer can look up in his owner's manual to pinpoint the fault.

German electrics are fine. It's the "layout" which is primitive. The Germans tend to use a "line-layout" which means that if one node on the line give up, the whole system goes bezerk. The Japanese tend to favor the "star-layout" which allows redundancies in case of node failure.

CR is the biggest crap, but they are trying to get better with better titles, we all know that G35, ES350 ande Mxima are good cars, no need of an expert at all
