Lexus wins 7th consecutive J.D. Power and Associates Gold Award
Lexus has won its seventh consecutive J.D. Power and Associates Gold Award, scoring the highest amongs other premium brands in vehicle quality/reliability, service satisfaction and vehicle appeal. Scoring 862 points out of a possible 1,000, Lexus held on to the lead by a 17-point margin and was 46 points ahead amongst others.

Not only did Lexus win the top manufacturer award, the Lexus IS sports sedan took the number one spot for the second year in a row for an individual model along with its parent company’s Toyota Prius.

Lexus’ achievement for seven consecutive J.D. Power and Associates Gold Award remains unmatched by any other auto maker. In all, Lexus and Toyota models claimed five of the top 10 model rankings.

Press Release:

The results of the 2007 J.D. Power and Associates customer satisfaction index study show Lexus unchallenged in its number one position for the seventh year in a row. It has now claimed the coveted Gold Award every year since it became eligible for consideration.

It is an achievement that is unmatched by any other car manufacturer in J.D. Power CSI reports, anywhere in the world.

Scoring 862 points out of a possible 1,000, Lexus led the field by a 17-point margin and was 46 points ahead among the premium sector brands. It was the highest scoring brand in three of the four study categories: vehicle quality/reliability, service satisfaction and vehicle appeal.

As well as retaining the top manufacturer title, Lexus also claimed the highest result for an individual model. The IS sports saloon took top spot for the second year running, sharing the laurels with its Toyota group stablemate, the Toyota Prius.

The RX was placed fourth overall, making it by far the highest-rated SUV, 20 points clear of its closest rival. In all, Lexus and Toyota models claimed five of the top 10 model rankings. The results were produced from thousands of survey questionnaires completed by owners of cars registered between September 2005 and August 2006.

Steve Settle, Director of Lexus, said: “The message from these results is clear: the quality of our products and our service to our customers have no equal. In seven years, none of our competitors has managed to improve its performance to a level where it matches, let alone exceeds the all-round rewards of Lexus ownership.

“We are extremely proud of what has been achieved by Lexus GB and by our network of Lexus Centres, and are determined that we will continue to set the highest standards for customer satisfaction the UK motor industry.”

Lexus’ reputation will be enhanced further this summer with the launch of the LS 600h, a new flagship for the range, featuring the latest development of Lexus Hybrid Drive.

World domination?

Europe remains the last bastion for Deutschland's 3. They won't give up easily.
Only diesels, more attention to details and sporty cars will win there.

I'm surprised that the RX even made it to the list. I lost all interest in the RX when they moved the spare tire from a proper wheel well inside the vehicle to underneath the vehicle where it is exposed to winter mud and salt. Also, the spare wheel no longer matches the 4 alloy wheels on this vehicle. When my wife and I tried to get into the front seats, we both banged our heads on the roof because there was no proper seat height adjustment and the salesman was not able to fix this problem.

Theres been an RX300 in our family since 2002. Not my favorite but not too bad either. The new RX is overated and nothing special over the old one. THEY NEED A NEW MODEL

bsdawg:

"just a reminder: JD Powers is irrelevant, biased towards Japanese makers and doesn't truly understand the auto market....

Don't EVER forget that!"

actually, JDP had gotten so embarrassed that japanese brands were corraling ALL the quality and reliability awards, that in order to retain their OTHER clients, they had to INVENT NEW categories for awards they'd qualify for.

and don't you FORGET THAT!
