2009 Hyundai Tiburon / Coupe Scooped
Santa Fe’s and i30’s are ok but if you really want to standout and make a point you either do it with a sports coupe or a luxury car. Hyundai seems more than willing to do it both ways with the production version of the Genesis concept that’s scheduled to go into production in 2008 and the all-new Tiburon (or Coupe in Europe).

Judging from these cell-phone camera images, the latter seems to be in the last phase of testing’s, about a year before it goes for sale.

This article states they would not be suprised if the car maintains a FWD set-up despite using the Genesis platform and the fact the image of the engine bay provided shows the engine is longitudinally positions in the engine bay. I doubt Hyundai would waste money driving around this prototype and revert to a front-wheel drive layout. Sure, this particular subject can be a test-muel to determine if RWD is the dircition they want to pursue.

I'm so happy to see the improvements Hyundai has made over the years.
