Who Are The Movers and Shakers So Far This Year?

Who are the new movers and shakers of the industry?

Those posting the biggest gains in sales percentages or the biggest sales? That depends on your viewpoint. Those that root for the underdog probably lean to those gaining ground on the establishment. Those hard core conservatives probably like the status quo as it is.

Either way you look at it, here are the results at the 4 month mark as to who is gaining or losing in sales. No fancy math is needed to derive the truth as we are at that point of the year that our sales days for last year and this year match, so all figures are a direct match for the year to date.

I had a Mini actually, and it was so much bang for the buck! a bargain actually with incredible resale value. Definitely MUCH better choice than a Yaris or any japanese car in its range. No competition there.

The new Mini just came out. I think that's why there was the drop in sales- it wasn't being produced for a month or two.

give Saturn 2 years and it's goin down there with Buick..Same story with domestic cars, new cars everyone gets excited..than they realize its the same old crap underneath..remember Chrysler 300, Dodge Magnum, Buick LaCrosse...

If you think about it, Saturn's last year models were pretty horrible. Lucky enough they have done the revisions of a completely new style. So for sure they will be better than last year in sales. Question is but for how long can they keep this up? As for fit and finish, they continue to have allot of issues, even down to radio reception is terrible in this car.
Front A-pillars has poor visiblity, especially downtown drivin' is quite the pedestiran killer, you find yourself fighting your way around it on turns left or right. As for their V6 engines...gas guzzling bastards(full tank @ 13 gallons, only got me an average of 202 miles and that is city/hwy combined, as I tried to use all kinds of grades and still can't get any better.) Lower front lower lip is made out of plastic?!?!? The most vulnerable area to road hazzard and it's made out of plastic...I hit a small piece of cardboard box on the highway and it simply shattered when I ran over it. And there is a list too much to mention. All this is based on my experience as I was given the chance to drive one as a company car(Thank-God!!!) to as much as 5,000 miles from being completely brand new. Within the 1st 850 miles, allot of things either started to come loose or fail one way or another. I guess that is what happens when GM is known for a quick fix company, by re-badging an Opel sedan, and not actually making it a little bit more suitable for the North American market. Funny enough they won "N/A Car of the Year", personally I based this on the fact that it's "New" from Saturn which is better than aything they had from previous years and that's it. All I can say don't judge a book by its' cover ladies and gentlemen...

I like sales figures compared on a quarterly total and year-to-date-total basis. No fudging with formulas based on sales days in a month or whatever else some executives like to cook up to make it look like they are performing better than their peers. Saturn has some fantastic new models i.e. Outlook, Aura and the upcoming 2008 VUE; therefore, I expect a big jump in future Saturn sales. In defence of Buick, I'd like to say that the Lucerne is one of the car best values available as the Lucerne is a comfortable large sedan with a fuel-efficient yet powerful DOHC Cadillac Northstar engine. I want GM to offer the Lucerne in RWD (with limited slip differential) and AWD versions.
