Intellichoice.com Lists Best Vehicle Deals for May
Intellichoice.com highlighted a significant amount of fuel-efficient and hybrid vehicles that composed many of its selections as Best Deals for May in regards to long-term value.

Fuel-efficient vehicles that often make Intellichoice.com's monthly list returned again for May. Units that fell under that classification included the Toyota Prius, Ford Escape Hybrid and Toyota Highlander Hybrid.

"A look at the list and it's not hard to see that fuel economy is a major factor for May's winners," explained James Bell, publisher of IntelliChoice.com.

Bell noted that the Toyota Prius actually appeared twice on Intellichoice.com's list. The Prius was the site's top choice for midsize car below $21,000 as well as above $21,000.

The fuel-efficient MINI Cooper also made Intellichoice.com's list in two segments. The Cooper took the spot for subcompact car along with convertible.

A third vehicle was listed twice by Intellichoice.com. The Honda Civic was the top selection for compact car below $16,000 and for that segment at a price above $16,000.

Bell went on to point out some other vehicle segments where previous winners were booted out by more fuel efficient replacements.

The Lexus RX 400h displaced the Lexus RX 350 in the luxury crossover segment because of its better fuel economy. A similar situation arose in the near-luxury car segment where Intellichoice.com's list posted the Lexus IS instead of a close competitor, the BMW 3 Series Sedan.

"With gas prices significantly on the rise, we think that many of IntelliChoice.com's May Best Deals winners will be getting a closer look from consumers in the coming months," Bell said.

Intellichoice.com also highlighted the clash among the Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra and Toyota Tundra for top honors in the large pickup category. The Tundra made the list for the half-ton pickup while the Chevrolet and GMC offerings claimed a total of four spots on the list.

Toyota also secured both positions on Intellichoice.com's list for best compact pickup.

The only other nameplate listed among any of the pickup segments was Dodge for its Ram 3500 one-ton unit.

With the exception of BMW's Mini and A4, I really can't see any Germans.

I like German cars but have to admit that most of them are overpriced.

I don't understand some of you. Would you say there is a stigma associated with a "good deal," (a.k.a. automaker is desperate) or that it's a good thing? Because I seem to remember some of you (cough-cough-Will-cough) mentioning how BMW gives amazing lease rates on the 3 Series, and "THAT'S" why it sells so well...
