The SL is a beautiful design. Getting a little dated but it will go down as one of Mercedes best looks. I don't think their identical at all. Proportions are all different as well as the rear design.

Have you not noticed all cars from the same company tend to have some similarities? some are trademark designs that run throughout the line. For example Audi has that large grill in front of their vehicles. BMW has their kidney grills. Lexus has their L-finesse. Does that make every car in the lineup 100% alike? obviously not. Come on now.

Anyways the side profile looks like an SL. IF they want a true SL competitor they need to have something distinctly BMW and something like no other.

Yes. It looks like a swollen Viper and Z4 mix. One thing that nobody can ever criticize BMW for is distinction though. 5-Series, 6-Series, 7-Series... all very "distinct" automobiles.

This will cost well above $100K but at least it will have more room than the current dinky little Z series. Photoshop or not, it looks good as shown. Will the V12 have iron cylinder liners?

You know what I just realized? Their naturally-aspirated V10 makes more power than their naturally-aspirated V12. Interesting.

That's because their V12 sees duty in a luxo-limo while the V10 was built by the M-division.

i think this design is hot and should be the next z4 not good enough to be a z8 like the original which is stunning till today.

It looks good but then it reminds me a little to much of the Z4 causing it to not look so good.

If you have no money to aford the Benz the Bimmer could be a good choice. Regarding Power the v8 of amg does more power and a lot more torsion than the V10 of M5 and if that is not enough for you the V8 in the SLR does more that 600 Hp. So About engines there is nothing that you can say about MB or AMG. I know that BMW is trying hard but that will not reach the level of the MB, in the same way that the New C63 will no be an M3. So at the end all is up to your taste. When some magazines compare the 600SEC with the BMW858 CSI or M8 it was not fair for the bimmer or for the benz , they are diferent. The Z8 was a great car but definitely not a match for the SL. This history will be the same thing. MB is the kind of car that only people with cost no object budget will buy; BMW is the car that budget minded people will buy (and I am not saying that is not a luxury car) but not at the same level of the benz. I can say for sure it will be cheaper and sportier and lighter than the SL. BMW may be will be near of the SL but not in same level in same way that the new AMG C63 will be near of the M3...It is your choice, I'll take the AMG C63.

And what the hell is with the rear tires in that photoshop. they look as if they are 33 inches. They are larger vertically then the car itself. Ridiculous.
