Audi Q5 to debut at the 2008 Geneva Motor Show

Audi Q5 to debut at the 2008 Geneva Motor Show
According to AutoExpress the Audi Q5 is in the first stages of development and is expected to reach dealerships late next year. When it arrives, the Audi Q5 will compete against the BMW X3 and Mercedes MLK, GLK or whatever the decide to call it.

Inspired by the Audi Cross Coupe concept, the Audi Q5 shares the platform of the Audi A5 coupe and uses Audi’s quattro four-wheel-drive system to offer decent off-road capability. The compact SUV will have a variety of diesel engines including a 2.0 liter TDI that produces 204 horsepower and a 3.0 liter TDI. A range-topping 4.2 liter FSI gasoline engine is also possible.

Design wise the Audi Q5 will carry a Q7 like grille, LED headlights and a muscular stance. Inside, the Q5 will have room for 5 passengers.

The Audi Q5 will be officially unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March of 2008

I'm really feeling the Cross Coupe quattro. AutoWeek, with their amazing picture, made me appreciate the A5's design on a whole new level- and I realized that Audi hasn't made any mistakes lately. Their new designs are just amazing. I am very excited for so many of their new models, such as the A4, A8, and Q5, because of this. I want an R8 Spyder, desperately. Go Audi!

should do very well. looks hot but this segment is definitely getting crowded.
q5, x3, rdx all great in their own ways, prices will be the main issue on who sells most i think.

Let's be real/honest here.

I like Audi's latest designs but the Cross Coupe Concept is really one ugly concept.

Q5 should be something like Murano/FX.I mean striking sharp design and not round and dull like Cross coupe concept.

Enough of boring and understated Cars/SUVs, Audi. Come up with something aggressive/evil.(R8)
Excuse me, i am not getting that word, which is lacking in Audi's design but is abundant in BMW.

It's not a bash guys, just telling Audi what customer expect/want.

Seeing that the FX was actually an Audi design with the Audi Steppenwolf concept that came out about 7 years ago...

Actually, Audi customers DO want more elegant, understated cars, and less brash-ness. How would you know what we want? And does this really look bland to you? I think it looks modern and very sharp.

JUGNU I think, "real/honest" that this concept looked good. Not everything has to look like an Infiniti, if it did you would bash how Audi looks like Infiniti. I personally "real/honest" don't think the Murano is a striking nor a sharp design. Its nice, but not striking. I liked this concept and the interior, even in this show car form looks better put together than most mass marketed and manufactured cars (meaning most concept interiors are barely put together, since they are just for show, this looks production ready). Can't wait for Geneva to see the final product! The Q7 is nice, but way to big for my tastes. I am a small car guy living in a parallel parking world!
