As soon as Lexus starts releasing info on them we will have it. The Japanese are very tight lipped on new models.

So in Japan, 0-100km/h(0-62mph) in 5.5s, faster than US version? Is that SWB LS600h's time? But I think the car in Japan has more equipments than the US version, thus should be heavier.

there are no short wheelbase LS600hL being made. only long.

Europe and Japan all get both 600h and 600hL.

I wish we got the LS600h here. It would be lighter, faster, more fuel efficient and less expensive. I'd look at it for my wife, because it would probably be under six figures, and would more easily fit in our garage than an LS-L or S-Class.

There's an LS600h (SWB) available? Interesting. I don't like how we only get the LWB of some cars- I would look into getting a SWB S550 4Matic, or even an LS600h, for my wife.

That red color doesn't work for it, but it's an impressive machine, nonetheless.

From what I know Mercedes no longer offer SWB ALL S550 are now long based. It seems they discontinued that trend.

I doubt it. The S550 SWB (S500 everywhere else) has been on sale for months, and I don't see any reason for why they would stop it. There are also other engines that come with the shorter wheelbase.

Definitely a masterpiece from Lexus, they did an exceptional job replacing the old Lexus LS430 with this Lexus LS430/600hl.

If I was to get one of this it would be white pearl or dark blue. This new Lexus LS600hl beauty is just stunning.

The LS600hL is a rip off because it doesn't give you anymore speed or better gas mileage than the LS460.

A big waste of money if you ask me!

And oh! what about the VW Phaeton which was take off the U.S. market last year? now that a rip off. Why get a VW Phaeton when you can get Lexus LS, BMW 7 Series, MB S-class or the Audi A8.

that's why the phaeton was discontinued. nobody was going to pay $100,000 for a VW. and very few will pay that for a lexus either. that's why the LS600 is being made in very low volume...to ensure it sells. even so, i've heard lexus is very nervous about this car.

I don't know. 7,000 units a year are not exactly low volume for a $100+k car.

Actually, it was said Lexus plans to sell 7,000 units in 2007!

enthusiastx11, the reason why no bought the VW Phaeton because it cost to much for VW. If they badge as Audi I think they would sales more of it.

People would pay $100K for Lexus because the name Lexus sales for itself. After all it is the number #1 luxury brand in the U.S. for awhile now.

bmw and mercedes outsell lexus in sedans, coupes and convertibles.

and mercedes far outsells everyone in over $100k cars. they have more than a dozen models that BASE over $100k.

I didn't see the pictures before, but wow, they make this car look pretty amazing. As I just finished reading an Automobile magazine review of it, which got me interested, after looking at these pictures, I will definitely put it on the list for my wife's next car. BTW, my wife's next car will also occasionally double as my client-mobile, so it would be just as good as an S550 in that respect... if not better.

The only problem? Length. It looks great outside and in, gets decent mileage, has great performance, and has all the tech features we want- but I'm hesitant to try to get one of these big sedans in our garage. Perhaps they'll be available to drive eventually, and we can check that out.
