Forget That Lame Self Park Feature, Is This The Future Of Driving?

I cannot wait to see one drive itself off the cliff or into a wall at a high speed or into a tree. No human inside of course.

Dre- one barely parks itself while the other drives fater than a typical driver. while both work one is quite a bit more sophisticated. You tell me which.

technically though if a GPS system was set up to map out the streets within maybe 1 mile within you or to map out the route towards your destination, it could be applied in real life. but then traffic.........

Yesterday 009 claimed that he posts 10 pro-Lexus articles for every one negative. Yet here we go with another slam in a headline. I especially love the slams when the article has nothing to do with Lexus. Again, I ask, why should it be no wonder that Lexus fans on this site are so angry all the time?

That is one week last week there was quite a bit more pro aricles, and far less con.

So I guess you would just want only good new reported about everyhing?

But technically, it is the same thing as Lexus self parking.

Actually, Lexus has implemented many features of auto-driving, such as Radar dynamic cruise control, auto lane keeping control, Radar based pre-collision system with advanced obstacle detection, Rear end pre-collision system, Driver monitor system, VDIM etc. into its LS460/LS600h, which are closer to auto-driving machines than you thought.

The roads need to be built for auto-driving machines.

Just wait until someone gets hurt or killed by self parking. My favorite vehicle in the Lexus lineup is the IS 350 with RWD and LSD. I only just discovered that the sport package includes LSD so I have to include that vehicle on my shopping list even though I had completely written Lexus off my list.

This car is very cool and can beat a human, but can it beat the STIG?

Exactly...The VW drive feature is yet to be prefected, the Lexus feature is in production, BIG difference.

However it's not VW he doesn't trust, it's the technology in which anyone has yet perfected, but VW is a step ahead with this technology no doubt.

Considering my experience with VW's, they'll see that it works MOST of the time, call that good, and put it into production. VW doesn't put time into their vehicles. That's why they're such a piece of crap.

I don't know about you guys but I love to drive,so they can take all this self park and self drive stuff and stick it up their asses!!

Lexus ALWAYS understates their 0 - 60 times by at least .5 seconds. Here are the results of the 5 Top Luxury Cars in this test which was reported in the January Issue of Car and Driver. Please note these tests were all done on the same day at about the same time and at the same altitude. The results reflect the average of 3 runs and all cars are the 2007 vintage.

Mercedes S550 5.6, 0 - 60 quarter mile in 14.1 (Benz show 5.4 in their specs)
BMW 750iL 5.7, 0 - 60 quarter mile in 14.2
Jag XJ Super 6.0 0 - 60 quarter mile 14.5
Lexus LS460L 6.2 0 - 60 quarter mile 14.6
Audi A8 6.8 0 - 60 quarter mile 15.2

Note that Lexus, as usual, is more than the 5.4 the manufacturer CLAIMS to get by .8 seconds.

Also note the LS430 (prior model the LS460 replaced) was rated at 295 HP and was actually 278 when Lexus corrected their rating. And there were no refunds or apologies from the so-called "quality" car company. ABC - Always Be Careful what you buy from the Lexus people.....
