First Look: Maserati GranTurismo Coupe

First Look: Maserati GranTurismo Coupe
Dressed in boldly sculpted couture curves that shame a Ferrari 612 Scaglietti, built on a shorter wheelbase (by five inches) version of the Quattroporte's acclaimed front-mid-engine, rear-drive chassis, and powered by the familiar 4.2-liter V-8-with power increased from 394 horses to 399-the new Maserati GranTurismo is exotic and glamorous, inspiringly original, and deliciously unconventional. It's the second all-new Maser in less than five years, and America is its Number One sales target...

Yeah... like the idea of headlights and 4 wheels... otherwise they don't share a single attribute.

Nice nice nice, only the Europeans can design cars as hot as this one.

Must agree that this car is pretty close to flawless, and with loose relations to a Ferrari, it has some serious driving potential.

No thank!, I think I wait for the Jaguar C-FX to come out. I would rather get the C-FX than this Maserati.

First of all, "Lexus," it's the C-XF, and secondly, the XF will be a sexy sedan or four-door coupe that closts $50-60,000. This is a $90K sporty GT.

I see a Chrysler Sebring. DB9/599/XKR for me.

How about just seeing a maserati

Will, please say you are lying...This pic is not flattering, and proper (ie more) pics it looks fantastic. It makes the DB9 and XK look chunky, which is nigh on impossible.
And this car is priced in line with the XK/6 series crowd, not the 599 or DB9 crowd.

I don't dislike it, but I don't love it, either. The front end is just... weird. It's not classically beautiful like an XK or AM, nor is it contemporary art like the R8. I think the V8 Vantage and R8 are still the sexiest sports cars on the road, thanks, and the Quattroporte is still the best-looking Maser.

S4, I have much better pics of the front end. The new grille if just great. The photo here makes it look like the grille is a big gaping black hole. Being shorter than the Quattroporte, this car should fit into any short-length garage.

Are you referring to my garage? Because, as of now, I'm not really interested in the Maserati. It's just never occured to me. If it's under $100K, I'll definitely give it a look-see.

It's about the same as an XK or 911.
