Dawn that really impressive, this Infiniti G37 is definitely going to gave the BMW 335i a run for their money for sure.

Exactly what I was thinking. That pic with the hood up looks amazing. Still don't know about the rear tho.

Automobile also dyno'd the 335i. Interesting to compare them. Looks to me that with all that extra torque on hand and even a few extra ponies, the BMW still just might win a drag race.

Exactly-The Bimmers twin turbo beats it on torque.Torque is what makes up a large majority of acceleration. Also "Automobile Magazine" still said the 330I felt a little stronger then the G37 preproduction mule. So perhaps Infiniti can find a little extra or rejuggle the gear ratio's abit before production.

I think the G37 and G35 have completed their mission: Overtake the 3-Series!!! I know it’s early in the game, and the right now the G37 is looking mighty good compared to 335i. After seeing this reliable source (Automobile Mag), the VQ 3.7 engine is going to shoot down that so called twin-turbo 3.0 engine. Party like a rock star, Infiniti! You did it!!

You obviously havent driven a BMW with this masterpiece yet, because this is the most addictively powerful engine BMW has ever produced. Im positive the Infiniti engine wont be as good. Powerful, sure, reliable, of course, but wired to your central nervous system like the BMW's, I think not!!!

I'm not a G37 fan... I don't like the looks and while it drives nicely, it isn't, as you point out, wired to your nervous system.

However, have YOU driven a 335 lately? I did, last week. It's a nice car, undeniably. However, it's nowhere near as impressive as your comments suggest. ("The twin turbo engine from BMW cant be touched from cars costing twice as much"...)

My pick for best car of 2006 was the 335 because of the engine. But as a true performance fanatic and a proud owner of two VQ's I can only say that the 335 has been Knocked-OUT.

I own a 335i coupe. And I dont believe youve driven one, because the car certainly doesnt behave nice.

The BMW 330i is not on sale any more.

I agree with the rest of that comment- but I again ask, what does being naturally aspirated have to do with it? The BMW has practically ZERO turbo lag, and it's much easier to tune it to high outputs than it is for the Infiniti engine. It also uses much less displacement... I'm not saying it's a better engine, but the "turbo vs. displacement" argument is a moot point.

I was debating whether to put that in there. I figured someone would attack me and say any turbo has lag... but no, I really didn't notice any when I drove it for a short time.

Not to mention the 335i gets far better mileage.

I love Infiniti, the only Japanese make I really like..And this new G37 is unbelievable..

I'm sure the feeling is mutual bud. I'm considering this as my next purchase but I gotta see it in person because there are times that it looks weird at some angles. Performance is great though and that's what intrigues me.

man that front is beautiful. so meaty, so aggressive. i wish the back stayed the same as the old g35. man oh man, if only the back stayed the same this car would be awesome. i wish infiniti would offer the smaller 2.5 V6 and lighten up the car. would make a very nice track car.

My daily driver is a 99 Q45t, but I also own a 04 645ci
I must say, that you don't know what the hell you are talking about. Most of you probably wouldn't agree, but Infiniti should be mentioned in the same breath. Sales wise, they don't do as well as BMW, but Infiniti makes very good cars. Performance wise my Q is still up to the task and it's been in the shop only once for oxygen sensors. I now have 150,000 miles and it's running strong as ever. I still get compliments on the car and I luv it just as much as my Bimmer. Both are driving machines. Of my 4 cars, I drive these two the most. Did I mention that my other car was an S430 and a Town and Country?

It's not an "official" photo or anything, but that's the hottest picture of the G37 I've ever seen! I have restored faith in Infiniti, because now I can rest easily, knowing the G37 is every bit as good-looking as the ol' G35 coupe.

Those pics from that link make it look great, I think it looks far better in darker colors. The darker shades seem to hide some of the not-so-great lines on the hood and posterior. Those wheels, however, are fantastic!

Why is the 3 series SOOOO overrated??? I drove both the 335 and the G35 and there were things I liked better on each of the cars. The interior appearance is much better on the G but the Body roll is better on the BMW. However, overall I preferred the G35 sedan over the 335. It was close competition but I think the G is better in most areas and we can all agree that it is when it comes to price and superior reliability. And why wont they put a base G up against a base 3??? They put the 38000 G up against the 45000 335. Again, I drove the 335 numerous times, its ok. Now the 5 series sports sedan is a vehicle that deserves class leading praise! Nothing in that class can touch it. But I think the G has the BMW beat. Sorry Beamer fans!
