Well, Same goes for most of the countries. I live in München,Bavaria, and people are complaining. I have lived a long time in the other great scandinavian country, Sweden. They also complain all the time.

To be fair though, when design studios, parts assembly, cabin technology and manufacturing all have different origins, what the survey is really asking is where the corporate headquarters are located.... A car’s origin is becoming more debatable every year.

What are Chrysler’s origins? German? American? GM is pulling itself out of its hole by pulling resources from Australia; and Ford is an American company whose design talent lives in Europe. Any company with a smidgeon of wisdom is pulling resources from around the globe. So these days, I’m really paying less attention to corporate headquarter location and more attention to design studio origin or manufacturing plant and who’s pulling the strings at the top of the food chain. "Country of origin" as it were, is indeed becoming less important.

Well of course college kids are going to say that Land Rover is American, after all it is made by Ford; OUCHH, that one's gonna hurt.

Next gen 3G /4G standards are pretty much owned by Qualcomm ( San Diego company) as is nearly all Microprocessor technology (ARM/SPARC/Power/x32/x64 etc) .
The truth being is that most manufacturing has become a very low margin business especially for Cell phones.. Motorola is struggling to move up the ladder to compete with Sony/Ericcson which have staked out their game in the high end sector ...

Mistakened is commonly used. It's acceptable and frequently used in formal speech in the . It may not be in the dictionary yet, but check the words that have gone in this year. You'd have thought they'd been in there for 15 years or more.

Im a college student and knew them all except for Lego and Adidas. I had always thought they were both American.

You know, I would imagine that anyone who reads the news fairly regularly would be able to answer correctly rather consistently predicated upon the source and the type of the news. It may not interest college students to know or be exposed to the world at large, and I find that disturbing.

I, for quite some time, have been genuinely worried about my generation and what will happen when they are making the decisions. There is such an immense lack of things like curiosity, but also of simple manners such as respect for the possessions of others and simple courtesy.
