A future compact Porsche?

After rumors about a small SUV from Porsche have been denied, now AutoZeituning reports that the company is working on a new compact model that will take components from the future Audi A3. Will this compact porsche be named the Roxster? Or is this new Roxster name a pure diversion to confuse us all?

As we previously reported, Autobild also launched some rumors about a compact secret Porsche that will be unveiled in 2012.

The new model will be powered by the same 295 hp flat-six engine used in the Cayman S. It is also rumored that the new model will be priced around 50.000 euro.

Don't worry, the Boxster is NOT cheap. For fun, in case I wanted to save a bit of money (my C4S would be about $115K if I got it for my next car), I built a Boxster S with my options. It was pretty modestly optioned, and it came out to $79,000. It's ridiculous.

Actually the Boxter S with the 3.4 liter 295hp is cheaper than the Cayman S. Now, I would much rather spend the money to buy the Boxster than the Cayman. The Cayman is basically a Boxter with a fixed roof. And Porsche wants to charge more for it. But really, If I wanted to get a Porsche only the 911 will do for me.

Socal and huu76 let me point out that the 2 cars you complain about are the 2 very cars that 1) saved Porsche from potential bankruptsy(or be taken over) and 2)Allowed them to become the most profitable car company in the world.So the next time you complain about Porsche's model choices just remember that these 2 most important models and give them a 911 solute!
