Kia: New campaign to get rid of low-price image
We can just imagine a bunch of Kia executives sitting in a board room, patting each other on the back, saying “If Hyundai can do it, so can we.” It seems like these two Korean auto makers are just full of hopes and they don’t care if anyone is pointing a finger at them while rolling on the floor laughing. So while Hyundai is hoping to move its brand to the upper-class market with the Genesis, Kia seems to want to follow.

Kia’s new ad campaign makes an attempt to get rid of the low-price image, attempting to show that the company wants to be known for distinctive design, driving and safety features. According to Kia’s Vice President...

There's a big, fat cash cow waiting to crap all on Kia and Hyundai's parade.

Her name is Toyota.

Actually Toyota should be the one that's scared of this. Hyundai reminds me of Toyota 10-20 years ago.

How so?

Even 10-20 years ago Toyota already had an image of high-quality Japanese imports.

No, 20 years ago Toyota did not have the Consumer Reports groupies. And since you Toyota fans like to point at CR and other mags for reliability, well look again Hyundai is up there along with Toyota and Honda.

20 years ago Mercedes had all the Consumer Reports/quality survey groupies, I'll give you that. (Man, how times change.) But Toyota's quality was not any significantly lower than it is today.

I have to agree.

Koreans are definitely becoming a threat to Toyota.
But more than Toyota or Honda, it’s a threat to GM,Ford and to some extent Non luxury European makes(PSA group,skoda,seat...etc who are nearly nowhere in the world except Europe)..Etc

I hope Koreans a Good luck.

KIA's image is that of incredible value if you can rise above the need to spend money needlessly to impress ignorant people. The new Genesis model has all the attributes I'm looking for: RWD, LSD as well as size and comfort. It's on my shopping list BTW.
