2009 Audi R8 TDI in the works?

There aren’t enough praises to go around for the Audi R8, which is already making headlines. Even Jeremy Clarkson is wishing he had bought the Audi R8 over his Laborghini Gallardo. It seems all Audi has to do is sit back and watch as the R8 becomes a huge success. But the Volkswagen company isn’t done yet.

The V12 TDI is too big. The V8 is a bit on the low power side. A V10 TDI would be the best option. Hopefully Audi can upgrade the V10 TDI. Should be good for at least 415 horsepower based on the V12 TDI power figures. Maybe even about 450 if they tune it up.

Hardly. You haven't driven it, and I think a 420hp sports car would be more than adequate for anyone here, especially when Motor Trend got it to do 0-60 in 3.9 seconds. Yes, you read that right.

I know, but the V8 TDI only makes 320 hp. A bit on the low side.

I'll take a V8 petrol or V10 TDI-- V12 doesn't fit, we already know that from what Audi execs have said.
