Top 13 Great Fuel-Efficient Cars

Here is Kelley Blue Book’s list of the top great fuel-efficient cars. Kelley Blue Book names cars in every category that save fuel without sacrificing very much else. Surprisingly, Honda Civic Hybrid’s fuel-economy isn’t too far off from the Toyota Prius.

the qualifier was not solely superior fuel economy. this is a list of 'great' fuel efficient cars. many have called the yaris a piece of crap...which it is compared to the solidly built and sporty mini cooper.

The MINI is fun to drive, the Yaris (what a name btw) isn't. Even the T-sport with 132 hp is rubbish.

also i think the hybrid camry gets better fuel economy than the altima as well.

the RX400h and the highlander also get the same fuel mileage.

23city/32highway, E320 Bluetech isn't that impressive. The coming 4500lbs Highlander hybrid AWD SUV will have 31 city/27 highway.

I just did a google and found that

the proposed 2013+ Diesel NOx Euro 6 emission standard will be still 100% higher than 2007 US bin 5 standard (the maximum for 50 states), let alone the current Euro 4 and the coming Euro 5 in 2009.

Real life tests show that the E320 CDI does over 40 mpg UK.

The new civic with the 1.8L engine should be in there! It is comparable or better than all the other small cars and sub compact!

Where is KBB getting these MPG figures from? Some look like 2007 numbers, some like presumed 2008 estimates, some like their own calculations.
