A5/S5 TDI for the USA?

Having sampled the S5, A5 3.2 and A5 3.0 TDI in the same afternoon, it’s with a fair degree of irony that we can suggest the A5 3.0 TDI might be the best setup for American roads. Being the least-likely to be offered in America, the low-range power would be more than enough for around town driving and highway cruising at legal speeds often far lower than portions of Europe. Even before you consider the improved fuel economy, or that the low-sulphur diesel the 3.0 TDI consumes is now readily available stateside, the car is already a clear winner.

This car looks good in these more "realistic" photos. It looks more muscular and sculpted than I initially expected to be.

You're crazy. I love the 335i and am going to look at the convertible for my next car, but the A5's interior is definitely superior IMO.

I won't disagree with you that the 3.2 is garbage, it's not that bad, but doesn't stack up against the competition, this 3.2 is supposed to be the new one with Valvelift & more HP

the 335 is just the 2002 S4 with 2wd

audi might bring an updated 2.7T in this car. The reilabily issues of the turbo vs a larger engine is showing with the big recall the 335 is having for overheating. I sold a A4 to a customer last week that had his car bought back from BMW

TheSailor: u provided a link for the interior competition between those 2 cars ... but if you u read the article on that link even they say that the Audi has the better interior. Which is a rule with every Audi vs BMW.

Sailor, interestingly, the page you posted to show that the 335i had the better interior says this:

I'd wait to sit in it first.

BTW, the 3.2 is not "rubbish." It's not amazing and does need to be replaced, but I had an A6 3.2 quattro in Los Angeles, and it was much, much better than I expected.

This car is just beautiful. With those BBS rims, I really believe Walter de'Silva in saying it's the most beautiful car he's ever designed. Between the 335i and this, it's too hard to choose...

I see a nice combination of MBZ and BMW in the dash and its a good thing because its classy and luxurious while become sporty and aggressive. Love this car!!
