Volvo Releases 2008 Pricing

Volvo Cars of North America, LLC (VCNA) announced pricing for its 2008 model year lineup today. The announcement continues to illustrate the tremendous value across the Swedish automotive manufacturer's entire line of cars, wagons and SUVs.

The 2008 Volvo vehicle line has undergone enhancements to its model mix along with the introduction of the exciting C30. Other highlights include the addition of the new T6 turbocharged engine in the S80 luxury sedan, while the S40 sport sedan and V50 sportwagon receive major appearance updates and a bump in horsepower from 218 to 227. Later in 2007 Volvo will announce pricing for the all-new V70 and XC70.

These aren't "cheap" at all. The S80 is priced right in line with the GS/5/A6, and XC is priced right in line with the ML/RX/Q7. The C30 and S40 are bargains though when you consider their competition.

The new S80 looks like it could easily pass for an Audi to me. It works for the brand.

Have you heard about the turbo 3.2? I heard it's got decent power too and the same torque as the V8. What made you decide on the S80? I own a V70R and considered the switch but wasn't moved much after seeing an S80in person.

They are a great value. Especially the used ones, they take a huge hit on resale value.
