U.S. bound RS4 Cabriolet pre-emptive strike on BMW?

Looks like Audi may be making a pre-emptive strike on BMW. The Audi RS4 cabriolet is likely to be on American shores (sorry Canada) by this Fall to pre-empt the BMW M3 convertible due possibly in the spring/summer of 2008.

It's not a sales race. It's a performance race. Whichever wins the reviews- that's the true winner in my book. Audi wins round one (RS4 vs. E46)... but it will be interesting to see how BMW strikes back in round two.

With only 300 units to be built, it won't have an impact on BMW sales, but Audi does need that car here.
