New Smart ForTwo CDI gets 621 miles

While there is not start-stop fuel-saving technology as reported earlier this month, the brand spankin’ new Smart ForTwo cdi has an outstanding fuel consumption of just 3.3 liters per 100 kilometers. A full 33 liter tank, which will cost you European folks €38.00, will give you a traveling range of 1,000 km (621 miles).

You cannot get on the US Highway safely with that kind of speed (0-60) about 20 seconds is ridicule!!!! Pancake car anyone? GM Hummer will have it for a quick snack on the highway merging. Most USA person Love BIG TRUCK and BIG SUV! I would not get in anything that is smaller and slower than the xA or Aveo.

CO2 output is relative to the engine output. I'm sure if you floored the hell out of a Smart, your CO2 emissions are going to be higher than 88grams/km.

Obviously, but the CO2 rating is taken from a combined cycle, so it's an average.

My point is that if they want to see their friends, they'll take the bus or train, way easier than driving.
And if you're single or just a couple, it could easily be your only car.
I'd have one, it's just like having an 2 seater as your only car.

Ok, if you've not been to London...you have no idea. A car like this is incredibily popular and pratical as traffic is bad, parking spaces are limited and with the new congestion charges, should save the buyer some £££ overtime. Most people within the immediate London area are actually single, or a couple where they put their careers first, then settle down later and raise a family. If there's only 2 of you, usally only one, this car does fine whilst in the city.
