Top 10 Convertible Cars for the Summer of 2008

I'm actually impressed with the current M, they ditched the boat look and also the hideous orange gauges. It really comes across as much more refined now. Just need to take one out for a drive to see how it handles and feels.

1) Bentley Continental GTC, it beauty is just absolutely Stunning.....
2) Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster, pure sex on wheels.
3) MB SL-Class, Supermodel on wheels.
4) Saturn Sky-supermodel on wheels for a price you can afford.

I agree - but since the press release only came out today - we can forgive them. I don't see any Porsche on that list though...

I was thinking that, and then remembered (as carlover said) that the release just came out. They don't know yet.

I want an RS4 Cabriolet, but I'm debating with myself over whether I can make the commute to work with a six-speed car. Unfortunately, I gave in when I bought the S4, and got a Tiptronic- it's made my commute a whole lot easier, but it's nowhere near as satisfying to drive for fun. Should I go back?...

XK/XKR should be there on the list.

Btw S4 pick an XKR convertible. It’s got same power as RS4 but looks times better and also it’s a new flavor. Move outside Audi. There are a lot of better cars.

I really like the XKR, and I know I'm going to drive it. JUGNU, it's not as if I'm only looking at Audis- I'm going to look at the 650i/M6 convertibles, 911, and the Jag. It just turns out that the RS4 is coming here, and it really complicates things for me. The R8 may just be too much money, and I'd miss having a convertible, so that brings it down to two Audis: I could get an RS4 Cabriolet this year, which is the only time I could get it (and it's NOT an "old flavor-" RS4 is super-hot), or I could wait until the S5/RS5 Cabriolet come out and see what those are like.

I might drive the RS4 sedan, XKR, and 911 this year, just to see if the RS4 is better, and to see if I'd want an RS4 Cabriolet now. I'm guessing the RS4 Cabrio wouldn't be available to drive.

I don't really know what to do at the moment.

If I'm getting a Porsche, I'm getting a convertible. I love how the Cayman looks, and might test drive one, but I wouldn't want a Boxster. Don't ask me why--it's a great car, too--but I just wouldn't.

How is the 350Z not on this list? BTW: Infiniti does not make a convertible. Also, everyone knows that both the M and the G are better cars then the comparatively priced BMWs. Bimmer fans just don't want to admit that because there give you more for your dollar with the same performance characteristics.

I respect the V8 Vantage being on the list from a price perspective in relation to the DB9 Volante, but I would take a DB9 Volante...

And is the EOS even on sale yet? I have yet to see one anywhere.

The V8 Roadster is actually quicker than the Volante. It all comes down to looks, and how many seats you want.

bimmermike, the SC's interior was hot when it came out, but it looks pretty dated. Now that I've seen it more, I've realized that it's a carbon-copy of the previous-generation Jaguar XK's interior... but with aluminum buttons and a swiveling navigation screen.

Formula 1: You are so in denial. I have driven BMWs and there are great cars, but they are not worth the price you pay for them when you get the same or better performance out of an Infiniti. What does that mean a Novice? In fact, I have been following the car market for 20 years. Each year I see Lexus/Acura/Infiniti constantly making better products then BMW for 3/4 the price. Because of that, I now have a car for 35k that competes with a 45k BMW as well as a $7000 Pioneer Elite 1080p flat Screen in my house for the difference. That isn't a novice, that is just plain smart!

To be honest, formula, I'd rather have a G35 and a plasma television than a 330i. On the other hand, I'd rather have an S4 Cabriolet and a plasma television than a G35 and a plasma television. Hmm.

How about a 335i with a plasma television ? :P

From the list I'd pick the 3 series covertible.
Its good looking, cheaper than many on the list, handles like a dream. Enough said.
