A ban for all the cars capable running more than 101 mph???

I'm pretty sure most accidents that occur are under 100mph, even though we're exposed to high-speed chases and pictures of cars that go through a velocity makeover (www.wreckedexotics.com) however, this is just silly. Plain silly.

They are thinking to impose that car manufactures install a breathalyzer system, where the driver must blow into to detect if he has been drinking, and should he fail the car will not start.


I find that pretty lame considering the goverment here gives candy sentences to repeated offender. Some of these offenders have been arrested over 3 times, you would think they would be thrown in jail for 10 to life, but noooooooo there is always some excuse that these druken a-holes are realeased and pay a small fine, while the other family lost a loved one.

As for the topic above, the goverment should ban handing licenses, fine them heavyly, or throw them in jail if they killed anyone by their wreckless driving.

This is another attack on motorists motivated by a desire to brown-nose voters. Cars are not responsible for most of the CO2 in the atmosphere. People generally don't know this but, eventually, perhaps a little earlier than a billion years from now when the sun begins to swell into a red giant, we will need more CO2 in the atmosphere to prevent the planet's oceans from evaporating away. The only sane approach to all this is to reduce demand for scarce resources by reducing the planet's polulation and plant trees and other CO2-using vegetation on all available non-agricultural land. I am not prepared to reduce my standard of living for the sake of political expediency. We have to be totally practical in all this.

That is just absurd.

They're really taking desperate measures over there to lower CO2 emissions. I think it's London where you now have to pay like 25 pounds just to drive into the city, & about 50 pounds if you're driving a truck.

The "Land of the Free" has speed limits. They were implemented for the primary reason of saving fuel, although safety was also considered. Last time i checked, not a single one of the 50 states in the good old US of A (including my state) had a speed limit of 101 miles per hour. MOREOVER, most vehicles have some kind of electronic speed limiter installed by the manufacturer (or, more precisely, under orders of the legal department at the manufacturer). Mandating that speed limiters be installed on every vehicle in the factory won't change the fact that you can always re-chip your car.

I can't remember the last time i drove over 100 mi/hr, but then again i prefer autocrossing on a closed track to risking my life with the cell phone-chatting idiots on public roads.

I really don't see what all the whining is about. Get a grip with those cold dead hands of yours.

So I guess they can't have Honda civics anymore seeing as to that car can hit at least 102MPH?
