2009 Toyota Corolla

If Toyota brings the 2008 Corolla (2009) as presented in Japan they won't have to worry about being #1 in North America. It is boring and behind times.

There's nothing that that gets me more excited than driving a Toyota Corolla Coca-Cola!

im suprised last month's sales on the corolla are strong, bringing the fact tht they are a bit dated.

That's what good products do for you. Why can't others learn from them?

Meet the #1 reason as to why people "hate" Toyota. A high quality small economy car that excels at "Point A to Point B" transportation at a great price with a somewhat "prestigious" reputation for its segment is what the world over desires, apparently.

Don't hate the game....just learn to play it. Toyota's not the best in the world, they just most things extremely well. Can't fault 'em really.

I agree with Will. The corolla never wanted to be a prestigious or 'luxury' car. It's an eco car from an eco brand and that is Toyota. I see many Corollas roam the streets in the cities I visit when I travel by car. It's cheap, economical, and in most cases what people can afford. It's targeted consumers always end up a returning buyer.

Welcome to America, where the roads are covered with cavaliers, focus, escorts, cobalts, civics, kia and hyundai. Land of the free to buy whatever we can or can't afford. It's beautiful.

All depends on what you want out of your car. It's as simple as that. Cuz we all know a MINI will rock a Corolla on the street or track.

but the corolla is not in competition with the mini.

its competitors are/were: cadaverlier, neon, focus, civic, stanza, mazda3, etc.

and the corolla STOMPS ON 'EM ALL, in the marketplace. (the track is something else, altho' even there it isn't the slouch most think.)

the mazda3 was highly praised in the auto press when it first came out.

many car fans said it also looked fresh and "exciting," while the corolla was boring. how many years has the the mazda3 been out now? seems like i've seen ONLY about half a dozen or so in my city in all this time. while i've seen SCORES of '03 thru '07 corollas. which also look far more upscale than the boyracerish 3.

i think the auto rags were wrong about the 3. it may handle well, but FEW buyers seem to care.

The new corolla is a global car..open your minds thats why it is the best car company in the world and the others struggle so much just to remain in business. The new corolla targets a broader market where the competition doesn't even look. The new corolla handles and drives better than all of its competitors and gives good gas mileage...no wonder why its the best selling car in the world cause its simply the best
