DUD!

DUD2! The current car has more personality in its' rear bumper than this car has. Subarus are not supposed to try and be graceful and "jeweled". They are rugged, reliable, and utilitarian. If they happen to be able to go like a bat out of hell it is a bonus, but the car should still reflect the general image. This thing is just wayyyy to shiny and bright. Also it has a rather anonimous look that just doesn't let it stand out.

Kind of looks like a Lexus and that's not too bad.

DUD, a blind man can design something better than that.

DUD. The car should have been bolder.

As a fan of Subaru, I really want to say STUD, but... from the pics, there isn't much for me to like or dislike about the car. I am eager to see it in person. It is unfortunate that they framed in the windows on the doors, as that is currently my biggest gripe. Subaru is obviously playing it safe, after the Tribeca incident. I agree with opus's statement about what a Subie should reflect.

DUD! Back-End looks like a $12000 Hyundai or Kia lower- end model.

I used to like Impreza but think i will be a new Mitsubishi fan.

Dud, it looks like a friggen economy car or a cheap hybrid. What happened to the aggresiveness?

In black it would look better, but still is a little too econo-box for it's target audience.

DUD. I think it looks like one of the first designs out of China, knockoff of a Kia.

It looks too BMWish on the side. Front and rear are too Hyundaish. Certainly a DUD, a big DUD.

I don't care what it looks like as long as it can be ordered with the WRX STI drivetrain with a conventional 5- or 6-speed automatic. They obviously tried to give this car some character. with limited success as far as I am concerned. Small cars like the Mini and Fiat 500 have way more character.

They'll never offer an auto WRX/STi.
They're sports cars, not Buicks.

BTW DUD!
Have they moved it downmarket to Mazda3 type car level? No longer a limited sports car, but a production hatch?

DUD, Love Subaru but this looks like the front end of a Toyota Solara YUCK!!

What's with so many automakers reverting back to the '90s with these bulbous designs? The last-generation looks more modern than this...

The new Lancer is OFFICIALLY my favorite of the two, can't wait to see an EVO more in detail.

I think Subie is scared to death to make a cutting edge design. If the car took off they couldn't gear up enough to fill the supply and demands. They seem happy to produce just enough of filling the bill as a niche automaker and that is really to bad.
If this was a hybird type low volomne car fine, but this the almost the bread and butter of the company and they again played it safe and maybe even worse this time with this poorly design shoe box look, anybody wear a 10EEE?

This Design is the Lovechild of Subaru and Toyota Engineers. U can clearly see Subaru is loosing direction from their true values. Solara front? Lexus RX rear? Come on!!! Hopefully Subaru will open their eyes and stop making this crap.

Yes-They definately played it a bit too safe here.I understand they wanted to be more main stream. However, they hatch is so econocar that it that it might cheapen their image here. Other then the front and rear end pieces the basic shape of the previous car was OK. It was the interior that was cheap. Now it appears they got it switched. The interior looks more up market now.

Nobody ever bought a Subaru based on its looks.. It has always been a quirky car company. Howver its recent changes in the past 2 years make it look extremely insecure ... I wish they would stick to whatever they want to say, stylistically speaking and like it or not .. it is what it is.

My vote - Moot point as nobody cares how it looks. What will matter is how nice the new WRX and STi are :)

Hmmmm...Well the good thing is that Subaru made the WRX lighter, but then they made the WRX bigger. Why? Also it appears that Subaru is trying to figure out their grill scheme. Instead of standard hole in front they want to make a Subaru style grill, ala BMW, MB, Audi. Definetly a move towards luxo more than sport..interesting move. I am sure the STi will perform well, just look ugly doing it...style = Dude.

Totaly DUD but subaru is not known by the way their cars look, it's known by the way their cars ride so this is nothing new!!!
