Though I personally like Lexus more than Mercedes, I would say every successful real estate agent owns a S-Class.

That can't be happening because it's limited quantities. Most of the successful real estate agents in my city drive BMW's or Mercedes. I see very few to none from Lexus. Asians see Mercedes, Audi, and BMW as better luxury brands more than the Caucasians. Simple fact is North America was introduced with the Lexus brand and marketed towards them so of course they'll favor their Japanese-Domestic brand.

When you make your money, the h in the LS600h may stand for hydrogen fuel cell :P

Just finished most the video.... not bad. But when I first saw the LS appeared on the screen, I see the Banglised Butt and the Hoffmeister's Kink. Very unfortunate.

I see the VW Phaeton nose, a mix of BMW and Audi on the side, ..

It's NOT an ugly car, I guess Lexus took a bit of everybody and then called it L-Finesse.

Why everyone here hate the Bangle Butt so much? I really don't get it? I really like the BMW 6 Series, it really gave it a distinct look.

Sometimes I really think if there was a one-word story with just the name "Lexus" the usual suspects would still emerge from whatever rock they live under and post the same-old, tired knocks at Lexus.

If for some reason you don't like Lexus, great. Please at least come up with some original criticism though. I think we have all heard the same ignorant crap regurgitated enough.

Well, that wasn't very nice.

Even a clueless, jackass would see that the Lexus brand is bashed more than any other here at autospies.

The excuse that it's OK to be an idiot because some Lexus fans are idiots is more sad than logical.

I like it. If I were in the market for a lux cruiser, i'd consider it. Depending on the price (if it's cheaper), I'd choose the LS over an S550. On second thought maybe not. Still a nice car though.

Real estate agents? Most of them drive company-owned Acuras where I live. The successful ones drive whatever they want.

This car has had so much positive buzz around it, it's destined to take the Lexus brand very far into the higher-ended market. A Lexus over the $100K mark? Yes, it's happening...

But a Lexus so high market it's in RR, Bentley, and Maybach range that is not happening.

Lexus has to raise up their price for their flagship in order to compete otherwise people won't see Lexus as a serious contender. They have done a great job but I don't think none are the cars in the 100K plus in terms of luxury cars are perfect in anything.

In this case the LS600H only has the hybrid technology difference compared to the standard LS. In reality the hype is only about a hybrid system in a full size luxury saloon. Sure it's a first hybrid in a full size luxury car but the buzz will die down eventually. Lexus needs this buzz though as it's very healthy for the brand image. Without the hybrid as a selling point no one would be spending that much for an LS600.

Many of my partners in business have had many clients driving Lexus. Some of them say they bought a Lexus because of it's much more affordable price. It sure was affordable compared to the very expensive German rivals. Just because someone spent nearly 100K on a Lexus before does not mean they would be spending 120K or 150K for one again.

I'm proud nevertheless of Lexus having their marketers promote their product. No matter how great the advertisements are and the buzz in North America, the rest of the world will take some time to be convinced that a Lexus will replace their German or British luxury saloon. That will be one hard task. We all know that whether you like to admit it or not.

Lexus ALWAYS understates their 0 - 60 times by at least .5 seconds. Here are the results of the 5 Top Luxury Cars in this test which was reported in the January Issue of Car and Driver. Please note these tests were all done on the same day at about the same time and at the same altitude. The results reflect the average of 3 runs and all cars are the 2007 vintage.

Mercedes S550 5.6, 0 - 60 quarter mile in 14.1 (Benz show 5.4 in their specs)
BMW 750iL 5.7, 0 - 60 quarter mile in 14.2
Jag XJ Super 6.0 0 - 60 quarter mile 14.5
Lexus LS460L 6.2 0 - 60 quarter mile 14.6
Audi A8 6.8 0 - 60 quarter mile 15.2

Note that Lexus, as usual, is more than the 5.4 the manufacturer CLAIMS to get by .8 seconds.

Also note the LS430 (prior model the LS460 replaced) was rated at 295 HP and was actually 278 when Lexus corrected their rating. And there were no refunds or apologies from the so-called "quality" car company. ABC - Always Be Careful what you buy from the (REPREHENSIBLE) Toyota/Lexus people.....
