2008 HONDA ACCORD INTERIOR, BMW NISSAN INSPIRATION???

I hate to admit it but the interior is very BMW esque. The nav screen looks as if it came from the current x5. It doesn't have the hump from the 7 or the 3 series. The steering wheel is horrible but otherwise the interior isn't bad. I wanna see the accord sedan though.

In addition I think it looks better on the Honda than it does the bimmer. I don't like that big button in the center that they're using though. Also did anyone see the additional pics the headline mentioned?

WTF was Honda thinking? This interior is totally Banglised. Take away the steering wheel and you would probably think it's a BMW. Very very unfortunate.

Chris Bangle didn't design any of BMW's interiors you idiot.

If you hate interesting styling that much, go buy a Toyota.

That does look a lot like a BMW interior. Not the steering wheel or the LCD screen, but the CD player and air conditioner buttons look a ton like the BMW 3 or 5-Series.

I agree. I still think there cars are boring, but this is step in the right direction.

well we have a 07 accord lx, i want to see wat the interior w/o the navi(in my case this could be the ex in the image) before making judgements.

That probably is the LX sedan interior with the cloth seats and 5 speed manual. Rumor has it the screen will be there no matter if the car is navi or non-navi.

Nonetheless, doesn't look too bad at all. The center stack looks like the existing Accord, while the screen and hood kind of remind me of BMW. The speedo area definitely is BMW-ish, but that's how Honda's used to look before they went to a large speedo in the middle with smaller tach, etc.

but the LX isnt available with the nav system. it could be a information display of the vehicle but tht would be too upscale and would be close to the avalon segment.

Looks OK to me.

BTW that interior looks like upcoming Land Cruiser's (as seen in spysots).

Absolutely-Although with the forward consule it has a little Infinity thrown in as well. I think it looks a lot more upscale then the previous Accord interior.

Why would any car company try to make thier interiors look like BMW. BMW interiors (3 and 5) are stark, cold, uninviting and boring. I used to love BMW but thier design direction leaves more to be desired imo.

I think you guys are smoking something-i have never seen 27 buttons and 4 knobs on any BMW. The dash looks about well designed as an Accura MDX, no correct ergonomics and a mess of controls!Looks like you have to move your head over to the right just to see the LCD screen.Nice try comparing to BMW!

It's funny to hear some of you act surprised, when you see that Asian car manufacturers (esp. Toyota and Honda) are taking design cues from BMW, M-B, and Audi. This is NOT new and has been going on for a long time now. Guess what, it will continue to happen. It's just the way it is. You know what they say, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Sorry, I really don't understand what is so bad about the interior.
It's certainly more fresher than the previous design, or other japanese makes.

I think the centre LCD display is much more appealing than say the current 5 Series idrive display.

I hate the velour. Replace it, even with a better trim..or vinyl..sheesh.

Gearstick looks horrible, needs a less protruding hand-brake.
The only way to look less tacky would be to add an aluminium trim.

Come on guys. Its a Japanese low end mid-sedan.

You're right on the money. Who cares if this thing looks like a Bimmer inside and out. Lexus copied the S-Class all throughout the 90's and they seem to be doing just fine.

Also, when the current generation Accord first debated, everyone praised the coupe for looking like a Mercedes coupe from the rear. So why is everyone bashing this model for resembling a BMW? Rather it look like a BMW than say, a "Saturn".
