Even though its the bottom of the Porsche range the overall dynamics of the Boxster is not that bad. It's just same as owning a C-class as a poor mans Benz but it's no longer the case.

"Not that bad?" The Boxster is a great sports car. It has MUCH better dynamics than most of its competition.

I do believe the Corvette won this last year, or won a similarly-titled award.

Boxster "bottom range" not that bad? C class "poor man's" Benz? Tell us what poor man or women can even afford a car let alone a Porsche or MBZ, most poor people sir wake up and wonder if they are going to eat that day let alone worry about luxury cars.

Poor man's only in their terms. Porsche and Mercedes do not make cheap cars. It's no suprise that Porsche won this award. They have been making sports cars for over 50 yrs. They seem to know what their doing. They may not havethe most powerful cars but they have great overall balance in both performance, handling and quality. It's no wonder they are the profitable car company in the world. They deserve it.

I've never driven one on the track - but I have on the street. It was the best handling car I've ever driven (yes - to me it was better than an M3). I haven't driven a 911 though.

In case some of you don't get the moral of this story..."Performance is more about balance than 0-60 times and horsepower ratings"...for the rest that still don't get it...gas pedal on right, keep steering wheel straight!

While the Boxster S is a helluva car, the Cayman S is much better except for not being a convertible. And it'snot just a Boxster with a steel roof. The parts breakdown is 30% Boxster, 50% Carrera, 20% unique.
