IS500 or IS-F Which Would Be The Best?

I'll take the 500. Ths IS-F looks to boy-racer'ish IMO.

I actually think the IS500 looks better by far. Much more integrated.

If an IS coupe is really in the works (I personally hope so) then inevitably Lexus would do an IS-F Coupe. I can tell that this thread will become just another IS-F-bashing festival, so get to it German fans...

I would take coupe IS.

That coupe photoshop actually looks very good. Some proportions look a bit odd but overall is looks much more balanced than that vulgar and overdone IS-F.

A Lamborghini needs to be vulgar and over-the-top. It's a Lamborghini for crying out loud!

I like the 500 much better than the F. The F looks like something from that retarded movie called fast and furious.

i would go with the IS-F, but wish they called it IS500.

weird that the photoshop actually seems to fit the lexus philosophy better than the real thing. that coupe looks really smooth and refined, understated elegance.

but anyway i asked a tech and he said theres zero news of a coupe. only thing coming for sure after the LX570 is a new SC.

The IS500 is hot! This is even better-looking than the normal IS350 sedan. Wow, does it make the IS-F look stupid. If they put a subtle bodykit on the IS500, it would be one of my favorites in that segment.

Lexus ALWAYS understates their 0 - 60 times by at least .5 seconds. Here are the results of the 5 Top Luxury Cars in this test which was reported in the January Issue of Car and Driver. Please note these tests were all done on the same day at about the same time and at the same altitude. The results reflect the average of 3 runs and all cars are the 2007 vintage.

Mercedes S550 5.6, 0 - 60 quarter mile in 14.1 (Benz show 5.4 in their specs)
BMW 750iL 5.7, 0 - 60 quarter mile in 14.2
Jag XJ Super 6.0 0 - 60 quarter mile 14.5
Lexus LS460L 6.2 0 - 60 quarter mile 14.6
Audi A8 6.8 0 - 60 quarter mile 15.2

Note that Lexus, as usual, is more than the 5.4 the manufacturer CLAIMS to get by .8 seconds.

Also note the LS430 (prior model the LS460 replaced) was rated at 295 HP and was actually 278 when Lexus corrected their rating. And there were no refunds or apologies from the so-called "quality" car company. ABC - Always Be Careful what you buy from the (REPREHENSIBLE) Toyota/Lexus people.....

i dont think there really is even a choice here. i would go with the is500 no prob. its cool, i have the is350 now but, how are u really going to compete with a coupe? once the is500 drops i will be in it right away, put a little beef in the motor and you got the best of both worlds. luxury and sport...
