Google Giving $10 Million to Hybrid Car Development

Internet giant Google hopes to speed the development of plug-in hybrid cars by giving away millions of dollars to people and companies that have what appear to be practical ways to get plug-ins to market faster.

It says that so far, only $1 million has been announced and they're only pledging another $10 million. $1 million may be a lot of money, but in terms of a company needing money to develop a car, let alone a plug-in hybrid, $1 million is a penny drop in a piggy bank!
