There's no way the G8 will base at $35K.
With the V6 it should base below $30K to compete with the Chrysler 300. Forget it's a Pontiac; the car should handle and drive great. The quality of GM's latest new cars is surprisingly very good.
My son's new HHR is equal in quality to my Lexus IS that I purchased the same week.

I've driven the IS and been inside the HHR. It is a very long stretch of the imagination to say that the interior is equal, even in quality. Aside from that though, I can't imagine the base G8 being close to $35 grand either. It is, however, a step up for Pontiac/GM. They seem to have actually started caring about their products now.

I think he means in the sense that the HHR has been surprisingly problem-free compared to the expected problem-free Lexus.

Everyone's quality is on the way up, which is always good news. The only thing is that the Americans have to get over the stigma that still lingers from previous times...

Completely agree with you bulldogz. As much as I try to avoid stooping down to the level of formula1 and responding to anything he has typed, I have to add it would be a very hard sell to say that the previous generation (IS300) had a better, or even equal, interior than the Merc or BMW. However, this generation (IS250/350) has a very inviting interior, and I am speaking from actually driving the car, not from looking at pictures on the Internet. The rear seat space, which is quite small, is a non issue for me but on interiors alone, the IS exceeded my expectations. One little thing I loved was the way the dials turned when starting up the car. I don't know why I loved seeing that so much.

Formula 1, you need to be paid by one of those companies to blissfully and ignorantly spew out German propaganda when I can almost guarantee that you haven't driven a BMW/Merc/Lexus. Instead of making yourself the token ignorant kid on this website, why not contribute something worth while thats worthy of SOMEONE (ANYONE!!) reading.

of course, this G8, is based on australias holden commonders structural platform. thts not bad. the interior of the G8 looks nice.
