France: Renault Megane Goes Green

At the end of June 2007, Renault will be releasing its first bioethanol-compatible vehicles in Europe, in the form of Meganes powered by a 105 hp 1.6 16v engine running on E85 fuel.
Biofuel-compatibility is one of the criteria behind the Renault Eco2 signature.

The rear is cool!
Renault made a huge deal of it, basing the entire advertising line around it. Everyone knows it as "that car with the arse", even people who know nothing about cars.

Well the SR does, but then Renault have all other engines bigger than 1.6 with more hp (225 in the hottest version).

People in Europe don't need BIG Gas guzzling engine.
The Megane is the size of a Nissan Versa (with which it shares platform), however the chassis on the Renault is tweeked for performance.
Case in point the Renault Megane RS with 225 Hp.
Every comparo that the Renault megane RS or the Clio RS has been put against, both cars always come on top.
These are the hotest hatches on the market.
I love the GTi, absolutely love it, but the Renault will eat if for lunch.

It is a Nissan Versa. They should be able to transition the motor to a Versa pretty easily. Then Nissan will have more green cars in the US then just the Altima.
