2009 Acura NSX Preview

The journalists praised the NSX for years yet sales never matched the enthusiasm of the press .

Let's see how the redesign drives and how well it's welcomed into this segment .

It's about time Acura updated this car and I hope it was worth the wait.

IMO Honda/Acura should have used all the dollars invested in updating the NSX and invested in automatic and diesel options for the S2000.

That looks similar to the Enzo Ferrari.

The same year, yes, but at what time. Considering it was only a concept car, which can only take a few months to design and build, Honda's designers could have easily drawn inspiration from the Enzo test mules and pre-launch photos available at the time.

Bull Infiniti buried themselves with the garbage Q, they are finally making decent cars so everyone jumps on the band wagon. Just like Nissan gets left behind when it comes to Toyota and Honda, Infiniti will get left behind also.Read all the articles on how they struggle and they are not globalized either.Where's there super car they have to sell it as a Nissan just to get street cred.I don't care if they make V8's what's it to them if people are still going to buy the LS460.

The original NSX was like Mcgiver. It could do everything but didn't have any chest-hair. Porsche and Vettes have chest-hair. the Acura doesn't

The original NSX had an inherently-out-of-balance 90-degree V6 -- a deal-breaker for me.

Yeah but both of those cars have what the NSX doesn't have. And that would be a personality or soul. As nice as the NSX was/is, I'd choose a Vette or a Porsche over it anyday, VW bus sound and all:-)

The original NSX never really had great sales numbers because dealer markups at first removed the competitive price of the car. For some reason the price did keep creeping up too as the years went on.

I really hope the new NSX is as special as the first.

Acura really does need to work on it's flagship vehicle and return to their old naming structure (Legend, Vigor, etc.)

Ricemaster - why do you keep posting to this site when you don't know what you're talking about? As soon as you start referencing facts instead of spouting off your extremely offensive opinions, then maybe someone will start to give a damn what you think.

The upcoming NSX will certainly be much more competitive than its predecessor. Honda has never before engaged in horsepower wars, so this is quite a break with their tradition. One thing is certain -- Acura desperately needs a coupe in its lineup, and Honda is working hard to make sure that it is well-developed before introducing it. I've never seen Honda spend so much time in tuning a vehicle before.

The new NSX will be a V10 rumored at 550HP making it the most powerful Japanese manufactured car. To all the haters who say that the NSX had no soul motortrend named it "the greatest sports car ever built". All I hear of Vettes is it's a cheap alternative to a Ferrari!

The Lexus LF-A is also going to have "over" five hundred hp and a full carbon fiber body,I don't think the NSX will have a carbon fiber body,so the power to weight ratio won't be as good as the Lexus LF-A,that being said,I don't think the NSX will be the most powerfull vehicle from Japan..

Ha, i like the way the Lexus fanboy has come in to defend the mighty Lexus! Man, such loyalty to an overrated brand, is, well...a waste of time. And most powerful vehicle from Japan, who cares? Still lagging behind Europe.

You have your opinion about Lexus and thats fine,you call Lexus overrated,but so are the German vehicles!!
So explain to me what makes a german vehicle better than a Japanese vehicle??

As you stated, all down to opinion. However, i enjoy prestige (history). No matter what you say, Lexus have very little. I also apreciate good design, again as you said, this is opinion. But i don't think the Japanese although making GOOD cars, have yet conquered exterior design like the Germans have, only literally 3/4 models.
