"Hybrids suck and diesels rule!" comments are inevitable, but lowering CO2 emissions are what hybrids are all about. It takes some special 'engineering' of filters to reduce the emissions of diesels, which hybrids tend to emit less than anyways.

There's clearly an emissions advantage of having an electric motor power your car at lower speeds, when braking and when stopped as opposed to just diesels.

I agree with you Will...hybrids are a viable solution at the moment
of course, we will eventually need to learn how to conserve fuel AND find other sources of fuel

The only way to conserve fuel at present is to make more of it from coal and sugar cane. The other way is to control human population growth. We are choking ourselves to death by overpopulating the planet and placing huge demands on scarce resources.
