Paris got screwed again!

It looks like Paris Hilton got screwed again by the law, this time her precious Mercedes SLR was the victim, when she failed to make her payments. The whole going jail thing has made Paris very confused, which explains her missing two car payments, prompting the bank to call the Repo-men into action.

Why didn't she just pay for the car in full upfront? You can't feel too bad though, this car will make a ton of money at the next bank auction.

Believe it or not but when i was in the business we had these kind of people come in lots of them are pretty screwed up with their credit and in deep, they have a very poor cash flow and a lot of their money they can't get to but their agents and lawyers can or the x spouse is tying them up.
I can tell you stories of the so called hype media rich who are late all the time on payments. The rich and super rich are the ones nobody knows who they are, we just called them sir or miss which car do you like and a cash deal is made, the hollywood crowd and some athletes try to dance around their fame and hope you will send them off on their way with a payment book and a press release they just bought a fancy car which we knew may be coming back to us if they can't get a contract or movie role, whatever.
BTW Paris Hiltons mansion? is just 2,750sq ft on a postage size lot and is in a poorly maintained old area it is far from being a mansion, another press release hype of Hollyweird.

The Hilton's are not as wealthy as they pretend. Her family [parents] is worth $300 million: net worth. What is in their bank account would be vastly different. Although she does make for herself most certainly.

unless all $300M of your net worth is tied up in land or some commodity you have to sell to turn into money you don't get to be worth $300M without having some cashflow. The Hilton's are the namesake of a hotel empire. Money comes in and goes out every second of every day. They've got cheese.

With reference to Chuck777's comments, I used to know a real bullshit artist sales executive in LA who bought a big old house formerly owned by a movie mogul. The place was not properly maintained and smelled musty as hell. He complained bitterly when city welfare payments forced up property taxes beyond what he had planned for.

Every bit of publicity increases the value of her name as a brand. My first reaction to her recent jail sentence was: why did she not avoid the whole poblem by simply hiing a chauffeur. As for the repo, her CFO could have easily made sure that payments are made on time. This whole story smells like one giant publicity stunt as it does not make business sense otherwise.
