White Hot Heat: 2007 Audi A4 Avant S line Titanium Package Road Test

Some say white is the new black, and frankly after spending a week with this A4 Avant we’d have to disagree. In this case white fails to adopt black’s legacy of high-society refinement and sophistication. Instead, this vehicle is nothing short of white-hot cool.

Audi purists have long argued that Avants deserve a special spot within the Audi lineup and we tend to agree. While Europe sees a much more even distribution of sedans and wagons, the US market has failed to generate the same Avant-lust as abroad. All the better for those North American drivers looking to tip the unique scale – buy an A4 Avant and configure like the one in this article and you will suddenly find yourself in very rare company.

The Titanium package offers exclusive 18" wheels and removes all chrome and aluminum trim. The S-Line sport package must be chosen to get the Ti trim. Not an expensive option, but quite rare nonetheless.

Quite handsome! It's unfortunate that the S-Line package limits the interior colors.

Yeah - that's the problem - the S-Line package is too rare. I did hear a rumor the 2008 A6 will come as standard because they realize the base model doesn't look agressive enough. It's a rumor at this point - but I hope it's true.

no the 2008 A4 comes standard because it is the last year of a 7 year old platform. Audi always does something like this in the last year to show more "vaule"

actually, the S-line package is not standard on 2008 A4s. Audi throws in for free on the standard car the S-line fascia and a few other bits, but the S-line package is still an added-cost option -- primarily because of suspension upgrades.

S-line = sport package, upgraded wheels, plus black leather interior and aluminum trim (base car now shares S-line fascia)

Titanium = upgraded wheels again, replacement of shiny bits with black ones inside and out. Very sharp in some colors.

For those who don't want to spend the cash on the trim bits, you can order the sport suspension independently as well.

A-Bimmer, are you trying to imply that the 328xi wagon is lighter? Check again, Einstein.

Both are solid, well built cars, very comparable by all measures. No surprise that AWD adds weight over 2wd models.

...and so your point is... ???
